I know, I know.. I'm just sayin'... add the other skills to him and he would be a top 3 NBA player.

I see it averaging out to this:

    LBJ - 28
    Irving - 25
    Love - 18

Yes. Cavs' starters played more minutes. Irving played 38.

Can the preseason last another 8 weeks please?

The NBA season is way too damn long. The lockout year in 2011 was perfect. We don't need 6 months of regular season basketball.

I don't think the product could be any more diluted at this point. 30 teams and 6 months of regular season basketball? It's simply too much mediocre basketball.

I understand what you're saying but doing so would kill the chances for players to catch the all time greats in the record books if the season was shorter. There has been an 82 game season for decades. Leave it as is.

And the lockout year wasn't perfect. Back to back to back games and lots of injuries. Rose went down in 2012 playoffs after short condensed season.

I agree. I think back to back games should go under consideration for change though

I think preseason would suit every team playing at their homecourt and against Euroleague or D league teams. They come to you. No travel. Work on sets and rotations. Forget about playing NBA teams and get the global exposure as well as a chance to showcase guys from other world leagues or D league unknowns. Let the regular season be the beginning of all the speculations about who's elite, who'll contend, etc...

Remember when we used to say this about BRoy before his knees got shot? After his multiple meniscus surgeries, he could barely run and beat guys off the dribble, and slowly but surely, the rest of his game left him too. I think we all underestimate the value of athleticism and speed.

Dame's hesitation moves to get him to the rim are heavily very reliant on his athleticism. And although his range makes him great, he needs moves inside the three pt line to make his outside game effective.

I think he would still be a good to very good player in this league without the atheticism but I would agree that it helps put into the great category by having it.

Sorry but having no knees isn't about the athleticism we are talking about. If Roy was just slower not "out of commission", he would still be an effective player. Fact is, Roy couldn't even put together 20 minutes without being in excruciating pain.

So the reality is, every player in the NBA has "athleticism" or they wouldn't be in the NBA. We are talking about guys that rely on their "way above average" athleticism like Rose, Westbrook and Irving. If they slow down, then they are hardly as effective as what got them to where they are.

With Lillard, he doesn't rely on this facet of his game. If his speed gives out, his shooting touch would still make him extremely deadly. Rose, Westbrook and Irving couldn't say the same.

Sacrificing personal stats for team success is the key to this roster. I think scoring will go down for the starters but assists will go up. With 2 centers who could get double doubles most nights, it's going to be a different team than we've seen in recent history. With this squad, Blake will distribute the ball to the right guy instead of chucking early in the shot clock. With Roy, the plan was to just give him the ball and stand in the corner. I think the Blazers are going to be a nightmare matchup for most teams
