I have felt for a long time and still feel he is one of the best owners in all of sports. I know many feel differently but he has stood by the Blazers for many years now through thick and thin. Loves the game and the team.
PA is a great owner. He stumbled a little when he put the Moda into BK but he's brought stability and security to the Blazers.
Lillard is not a veteran. He may play like one, but I think vets are after the backend of their second contract But I love everything he said. He seemed to be excited which makes me excited
I'm glad to know Paul Allen is reading all my posts and following my lead about all this championship buzz
I think PA has evolved over the years. Has has gone from a passionate micro-manager who wants results now to a more realistic long term approach.
He was never a micro-manager. He's a donor, a benefactor, a philanthropist who gives away piles of money for the benefit of Blazer fans. The Oregonian hates him. They're jealous and try to run the team without buying it.
I found an error on the Vulcan site. It says the big plane carries 13,500 pounds. No, it carries that and a much heavier rocket, which takes the 13,500 pound payload (the baby shuttle) from airplane altitude to orbit. http://www.vulcan.com/areas-of-practice/technology-science/key-initiatives/space-projects-overview
I do think he has turned the corner. I think he has had a really good 4-5 year stretch with both organizations. It will be interesting to see what the Blazers do this year. I think they are banking on their younger guys Barton, McCollum and TRob making massive improvement. Along with incremental improvement Dame, Nic and LA. If Barton, McCollum and TRob can make a big jump. I like their chances to contend. The Bottomline is the starters need to be a lot more fresh going into the playoffs. Stotts can't be playing them throughout the season the way he has played them the last two years and expect them to go the distance in postseason.
Cheers to PA, he has put his heart and wallet into this team. For our small market we need an owner like him.
