As was expected, 42-year-old former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr, (55-8, 40 KO’s) easily defeated journeyman Max Alexander (14-6-2, 2 KO’s) by a 10 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Civic Center, in Atlanta, Georgia. The final judges’ scores were 100-90, 99-91, and 100-90, all for Jones. This was a really good fight for Jones, who showed impressive hand speed and combinations. He showed hand speed that fighters in their 20s would die for. Jones is effective when he’s not forced to fight someone with power or the ability to pressure him in any way. He can do well still under those conditions. In winning the fight, Jones captured the little known UBO Intercontinental cruiserweight belt.
