Toumani Camara, a late second-round pick by the Suns just three months prior, seemed like a mere footnote. Even he thought he was a throw-in, a name on a salary sheet to make the trade math work. “I didn’t really know the situation. I didn’t know who wanted me,” Camara says. “So it was very stressful.” But Portland fought for his inclusion. “We liked Toumani a lot,” general manager Joe Cronin says. “What we see here,” Cronin says, “is us preparing ourselves for when we are going to be hopefully really competitive, that we have those wings and those types of players throughout our roster—to where we have an abundance of it.”
Are there stats about turnovers caused? I'm thinking a offensive fouls drawn + steals + forced turnover without a steal stat. I bet Toumani would be near the top of the league.
Click the defense tab and scroll down to defensive playmaking https://www.nbarapm.com/player/Toumani Camara also you can look at the overall leaderboards
* he's at the top in charges drawn and 4th in charges drawn/36. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/hustle-leaders * he's tied with Amen (+OG+Fox+Keon Ellis) for total steals at 69 * he's in a 6-way tie for 17th in steals a game https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2025_per_game.html * he's 41st in the NBA in steals + blocks https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/player-stat/steals-plus-blocks (Wemby is ridiculous) he doesn't really show up in the deflection stats in that 1st link of NBA hustle stats which would probably be closest to "forced-turnover-with-a-steal'.
oh this is awesome! can't seem to find the leaderboards for the league for defensive playmaking though?
they seem to just have a 4 category defensive ranking: https://www.nbarapm.com/datasets/comp he doesn't rank very high in any of the categories
