Post here when you vote, and who you voted for. I did a mail in ballot a week ago and voted for Obama, Slattery for Senete, and yes to the $370 million dollar bond issue for Wichita schools.
Please mention if you had to wait in line for hours, or if there were any problems with the voting system in your area. Some reports are coming out of touch-screen problems and some extraordinary long wait times.
When we went in about 10 in the morning, there was no line, but people were coming and going constantly, and things were going fast.
This election also has some interesting ballot measures including 4 on gay marriage, 1 on gay couples adopting, 2 affirmative action, medical pot, stem cell research, and doctor assisted suicide, so if you live in one of these states tell us how you voted and why.
Voted for Obama, went Democrat for the rest. No for gay marriage...can't remember the rest of my picks. The line was incredibly long though..at 6 AM. Didn't get out till like 9.
I voted for Obama at about 5:30 pm eastern. I had to eat lunch first, and procrastinate. ^_^ Only took me 15-20 minutes for the whole process. I wonder if there was low turnout in my precinct... :O Not sure though.
Voted an hour ago, Obama for President, Jack Reed for Senate, then all the Independents. Wait was about 10 mins, which was pure timing. About 100 people in line as I was leaving. They made me fill out some card and show ID to vote for some reason. I questioned them on it and they said it's because I missed 2 straight federal elections. I told them that was bullshit, and I got this explanation "well, these are state employees we're talking about. They aren't always on the ball."
Voted No on 8 - I'm indifferent to gay marriage, but I very much against altering the constitution for a Proposition backed by Mormans and religious nut jobs Voted for Barr I'm actually pretty tired from waiting forever to get in the booth. The entire operation was run by 90 year old women in coke bottle glasses.
Voted for the first time around 4:00 for Obama. Hopefully I contributed to history this afternoon! I was expecting a huge line, but there was just one elderly lady in front of me. The whole process took about 10 minutes.
