Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) This is a really strong card. The main event is enthralling, Wandy/Sexy should be fun, Bonnar and KSos were having a good fight last time round, and Brown/Lytle is Fight of the Night material. Sotiropolous/Pellegrino should be a grappling battle--would've preferred to see Reljic/Grove on the main card instead.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) Not since the last GSP fight have I been this excited about a UFC card, really looking forward to it.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) The card will draw well with Lesnar fighting. He draws a big crowd on the mma forums!

Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) The timing of this show + a huge main event should = giant buys.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) The UFC is pissed that Kendall Grove ran his mouth about the way SpikeTV manages The Ultimate Fighter. This is allegedly their motivation for downgrading his fight with Goran Reljic from SpikeTV to the prelims. I suppose we'll see it only if Grove gets KO'd. He basically said that Spike runs the show and calls the shots, not Dana/the UFC.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) I think this is one of those situations where Kendall Grove should have thought before speaking. He backed himself into a corner after this one, because looks to be a "win or go home," now for Grove. It was pretty dumb for him to make the comments he did.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) If that's true, he owes Spike a big debt of gratitude. They gave him a great opportunity, and he dropped the ball.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) Sorry to change the subject, but after last night's happenings this PPV has gotten even bigger - Lesnar & Carwin are now fighting for the mythical status as "top heavyweight in the world".
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) I still think Fedor is the #1 HW in the world unless Brock wins convincingly.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) Even if he does, that only gives him a couple of notable wins in his career. However we shouldn't rank based on past accomplishments. We should rank based on who is the best right now. The winner of the Brock/Carwin train crash has to be considered #1 or at least #1B.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) Brock Lesnar (4-1) -170 vs. Shane Carwin (12-0) +130 Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-1) -235 vs. Chris Leben (20-6) +185 Chris Lytle (28-17-5) -215 vs. Matt Brown (11-8) +165 Krzysztof Soszynski (19-9-1) -250 vs. Stephan Bonnar (11-7) +190 George Sotiropoulos (12-2) -180 vs. Kurt Pellegrino (16-4) +140
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) ^ Yeah I'm hoping we can see him on Saturday at the show to tell if it is for real.
Re: UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin (Jul. 3rd) The question is how is Carwin fighting off his back? If/when Lesnar tackles him will he be able to escape or just get grounded and pounded like Mir?
