<div class="quote_poster">Quoting HiRez:</div><div class="quote_post">I agree with these sentiments for the most part but where you are mildly optimistic that Nellie will put Ike's strengths to good use, I am skeptical and mildly pessimistic. With Fish now gone, Ike should log a lot of minutes at the end of quarters and games with his solid foul shooting (unless it's Murph in his place...yuck). As you said, Ike is a finisher, many on this team are not. Now one thing that I am hopeful of is that at least Nelson should have the balls to get in Baron's face when he starts chucking up and missing 3s with no ball movement and :20 left on the shot clock. Monty obviously saw it happening but he didn't have the clout to say what needed saying. I think even Baron will find himself on the bench if he insists on doing that on a regular basis. If Monta develops some PG skills, hopefully that will light a fire under Baron's ass to make some better decisions.</div> Yeah, I totally agree with all the points. That's why I'm not even sure coaching change will fix our playoff struggles. We're only as good as our weakest links. That is the position of center and point guard. Baron last season probably was effective as Derek Fisher on a so-so night and Foyle did worse than Dampier post-newcontract. That's why this year will have to be wide open regardless of whether or not Mullin dumped a ton of money on certain guys. I still believe that rookie year Mullin thought he was the real talent evaluator and he was actually afraid to have more experienced guys give him input or resistance to his vision (or else rookie Montgomery wouldn't have been hired to begin with). I think Mullin was looking for the wrong parameters of which to evaluate a player and a team IMO. I mean Mullin wasn't really outside the box of a thinker. The guy was a PR hire probably. Maybe Nelly is the same thing. What's it going to take... I mean is Cohan going to grab anything that remotely signifies the past like Run TMC to join the Warriors front office? I mean pretty soon that will stop working with fans and they want the guys who will make the smart planning rather than guys not knowing and trying to figure out a process that's risky and has terrible consequences than it does rewards.
