To me it's Kaman, Blake, Wright, Freeland and Barton with CJ on the edge depending on how he finishes preseason.
If it's not T-Rob and CJ, along with Blake and Kaman, I totally agree with you. CJ and Robinson are our "must develop" players. If he fails to develop them then he should be fired.
CJ had the worst bench player game on the roster against Denver. Very Nolan Smithish..I think TRob is in the doghouse for something or he'd play. He made the rotation last season. I like both these guys but the question is really, who's got Stotts favor so far in the preseason? Stotts is not getting fired and shouldn't
I think so far, Barton beat CJ and Freeland beat TRob. That could change over the next 3 games. Wright is playing better than TRob and Freeland so far
The only dead certs are Blake and Kaman. Most likely after that is Freeland. I think Wright gets a bigger role, too. In other words: the boring older guys.
Barton still plays too out of control, that is why I don't think he will crack the first 5 off. I think it is Blake - CJ - Wright - TRob - Kaman
Nope, I'm basing on the games he's played against NBA competition...and he's not doing much better against LA's scrubs tonight either
Don't get me wrong, I want CJ to be a good player, he's just not looked good since the Haifa game (which was also only 1 game)
CJ had a great second half and played really well for a stretch, kept his edge for minutes..Will didn't have a great game tonight.
I think CJ has the backup 2. But 3 and 4 are in a 3 way race. Stotts went with T-Rob in the playoffs and he did well, so not sure why he'd have lost his job over the summer. Allen Crabbe is dark horse for backup SF.
I think the Blazers should sign Walt Williams. During his last sent here, he shot 44% from 3, and every time he made one, Bill Schonley would say, "That's why we GOT him!"
At this point, I have very little interest in playing Freeland, Leonard, or Crabbe. I wouldn't mind trying out Claver with Blake and Kaman.
