Has Olshey taken control of people’s minds around here? Another 6’3” PG? Argh!

That's why I'm ok with getting the 7th pick instead of, say, the 3rd-5th. There's a bit less pressure for that prospect to perform right away

the big draft is next year, or the year after. Maybe one more tank after that. The team is still developing Scoot, Shaedon, and this year's #7. It's ok to overlap development while more picks develop ??

Drafting Bronny James will really help with selling the team to move it to LV where LBJ can own the team his son plays for.

My preference for #7 as of May 13, based on tiers.

    1. Risacher

    2. Williams / Holland

    3. Salaun / Buzelis

    4. Castle

Obviously subject to change over the next month after measurements and interviews.

I think the impact of our lottery drop is really minimized by having teams ahead of us most likely selecting guards, leaving wings available in our range.

My thought process changes for 14 based on who we select at 7. I want one high ceiling guy & one high floor guy.

I like Dalton Knecht. At worst, I think he'll be a good Joe Ingles type reserve. But he has more upside than Ingles.

Trade Grant, and see how Toumani does starting at PF in our upcoming "tank" season.

Hmm...a bit like the why take Paul when we already have Telfair quandry?

Players are assets and if the next 2 years are tanking years just take the best player. You can always trade any guard. Check out scoring in playoffs most are guards except for Embiid and Jokic and even on their teams small guards were lethal.

A bit, except Chris Paul was a higher draft pick than Telfair had been and a much better prospect.

Scoot was a higher pick than Sheppard is likely to be (and in what is generally perceived as a much stronger draft) and Scott is a clear PG, while Sheppard may be more of a tweener in the back court.

But, yeah, it's a "BPA vs. Need" type of question to a certain degree.

The problem is how hard it can be for guards to come up to speed.

Holland could be a high upside pick at #7. Missi is a guy D69 took some notice of earlier in the year and I'm waiting to see what he thinks about him now. I'm also interested to see what Salaun's actual measurements are.

Why is Kel'el Ware not getting more buzz? 16/10/2 blocks on 58/43 from 3. The 3 point shooting stands out even if it is low volume. Only 20 years old and GREAT measureables:

Quite soured on Ignite but "one of the best defensive forwards in this class" sounds nice.

Those are solid measurements for Holland as an SF. Especially when you consider how athletic he is. Still only 18 years old so he will fill out.

Reed looks like a good prospect. But it would be our 4th iteration of trying a small backcourt if we paired him with Scoot. Dame/CJ Dame/Simons Scoot/Simons Scoot/Reed...

    Lethargic.
    Gives up on plays.
Doesn't play like he actually loves BBall.
