Yes - combine means nothing. Actual game film shows Edey to be on par (or better) with Clingan athletically.

    Great post.

For all the naysayers, I would recommend them to read through this long analysis:

Yeah I’m in on Edey. I’d take him 14th, but if there’s a good chance he’s gone by then I’d totally take him 7th.

    Huh?

Clingan is on a team with great overall size and athleticism. He played with another lottery player who is a great defender in Castle. Cam Spencer and Tristen Newton are going to be drafted, too.

Purdue is Edey and a bunch of role players.

I get that people want to find fault with Edey, but some of these narratives are out of alternate realities. Now we're getting that Clingan carried UConn but Edey didn't carry Purdue when I don't see how anyone can realistically make that argument.

Look, in the modern NBA, with the exception of Jokic, the job of the center is to protect the rim. Offense is a bonus, but nobody plays inside out (even Jokic plays on the perimeter). Edey is offense first but has poor defensive instincts. Clingan is much better at the thing that NBA wants out of centers.

Would you take Edey over Salaun?

That's false, too, and since you need to qualify it, it proves my point, but, by all means, keep buying in, keep digging that hole while avoiding my post and facts.

I'm running scared from your scary facts. But remind me what your "point" is.

I hav Edey ranked above Clingan. I don't love the idea of taking a slow-footed drop coverage guy in the top 10...
but for this draft, Id probably do it

I don't get the Salaun hype. He doesn't know how to play basketball well. I wouldnt take Salaun even with the 14 pick

Somebody explain to me how Edey is going to get more minutes than peak Boban did. I mean, per minute, Boban was a world-beater on offense.

All you have to do is read. It's right there, not far back. You're the one derailing your own conversation.

My only concern with drafting Edey is that the team does not fully commit to making him the force he can be. No half assing it. You develop him like any player drafted.
