Batum is a restricted free agent and Pekovic is worth more than him anyways I would think. Why would the Wolves give up Pekovic AND a #1 for Batum. Not happening.

The Wolves won't trade Pekovic for Batum. There's no chance of that happening.

Actually, I think the Wolves can pay Batum the money. All that has to happen is Darko being amnestied, then the release/buyout of Martell Webster and Brad Miller (who is retiring anyways). Kahn is just trying to do it another way right now. But if it comes down to it, he could make it happen...

5 mill is not really eating up cap space. I believe the Wolves have an option for the second year, so it's not a cap destroyer. It's low risk/high reward for the Wolves.
