I think they did an awesome job of switching off in time & that really made Jokic second guess a lot more pass attempts than he probably wanted to be unsure about. The defense rotations have been much better since the near collapse we had right before the hot streak started.
Exactly. He’s a little hot & cold as it often shows. He can get hot at any point in the game as can Dame/CJ, so there’s that, but we need a full team effort on both sides of the court regardless. That game was much closer than the scoreboard represented.
I'm not saying you have to trade CJ in order to go further defensively in the playoffs, and you absolutely can keep both and commit to small ball offense with GTJ at the 3, all I'm saying is that the proof is in the pudding on how real the back court defense falls come playoff time.
just for conversations sake lets say it works out that way.. you can't keep both players in the long run so picking between the two is inevitable. I'd take Trent's two way play & cheaper contract in a heart beat. CJ is virtually useless when his shots aren't falling. having two 6'3 guards who...
exactly how I feel about the situation. we've already seen the defenseless Dame/CJ duo not work time and time again, they might as well try something else. but I doubt dame ever signs off on a move that send CJ somewhere else
so would you rather see him or CJ at the 2 because both are starters in this league, CJ being the more solidified option. I guess the question becomes do you invest in Trent's ceiling as a player or choose CJ's offense.
I'd only be okay with Drummond if he's cool with a role coming off the bench and picking up the dirty work Kanter leaves behind when he comes off the court. I think Drummond is still decently valuble as rebounder and we could use some consistency on the glass. anything more than that.. not...
I don't think he'll force a trade but I think if he isn't taken seriously enough as a starter in Portland come contract time then he will wind up exploring his options as a starter somewhere else & he definitely will have his pick of a few starting jobs. if I'm Olshay I'm looking at a good...
I think you have to give Gary Trent starting SF money and commit to small ball with RoCo at the 4. GTJ is that good of a shooter & a plenty capable perimeter defender. I wouldn't let him go. this team is doing good as a functioning 3 ball centric team.. why break that a part? you have a decent...
