This Pelican team actually has a lot of talent when they are healthy. Zion, Murray, jones and Murphy, two good young guys in Fears and Queen and some more decent pieces in Bey and Messi.

No, i don't believe that's true. I think that is based on the belief that if we should then miss the playoffs again next year, that it will mess up our swap picks somehow. Even in the worse case, I don't think we actually lose any picks. Someone is welcome to correct me if i am wrong.

I do believe that every team needs to be told once in awhile that they have the talent to do better than they have been doing.

Beating the Clippers put us in real danger of losing our draft pick. We need to stay in 9th place in the standings to assure that we have to win two playin games to make the playoffs instead of one.. We can probably still rescue ourselves by losing to the Clips next week.

I guess either way, it's a great draft to be in, Either we get a guy like him or it pushes some really good guy into our laps? Watching Duke, U Conn. This guy Tarris Reed is projected 2nd round; I think that's another indicator of how strong this class is.

I like this idea of looking for a star and have my doubts about a safe guy like Lendeborg ever being one; and I know Tankathon ratings have limitations, but I also notice they have pretty good predictive value, and this guy has terrible ratings. Maybe not enough data...

I agree playoff experience is good but are we good enough to play competitively yet? And just to make it clear, if we finish out of the lottery we will not have a draft pick at all in the first round.

Right. Not practical to tank that long. Barring bad injuries, and after getting a good player from this year's really good draft, we should easily make the playoffs next year and give Chicago their pick in a poor draft.
