On a rare Sunday afternoon the Rush played their first double header weekend on the 2016 season in Calgary to a crowd of 10,005 people. The Rush went down early in this one falling behind 3-0 before getting on the board.

Zack Greer opened the scoring for the Rush nearing the end of the first quarter trailing the Roughneck 3-1

Opening the second quarter the Roughnecks came out with two quick goals to put the Necks up 5-1.

Matthews kept the Rush in the game scoring the second for the Rush at the 10:40 mark of the second.

Digby put the Roughneck back up by four on the very next shift. Making the score 6-2.

Karson Leung put the Roughnecks up 7-2 with 6:00 minutes left in the half.

Jeff Shattler made it 8-2 at the 5:45 minute mark.

Robert Church fired at the 5:15 mark of the second to bring the Rush back within five goals. Score 8-3

Curtis Knight puts the Rush back within four at the 2:30 mark to make the score 8-4.

Going into the break at the half Rush rail 8-4. However, Rush lead in Shots on Goal 25-24 and face-offs won 9-8

Knight opened the second half with a goal at the 14$5 minute mark to bring the Rush within three. 8-5.

Curtis Dickson put the Roughnecks back up by four at the 12:00 minute mark on a breakaway goal. 9-5.

Roughnecks got caught with a slashing penalty on Mark Matthews and Robert Church immediately capitalized on the power play at 10:30 of the third quarter. 9-6 Roughnecks lead.

Robert Church brought the Rush within two after coming out of the corner and tip toeing the crease to bring the score to 9-8 at the 4:45 mark of the third.

Tyler Digby put the Roughneck up by two again at 7:57 with a score of 10-8.

Jeremy Thompson came in on transition to make it 10-9 with 5:36 left in the fourth.

Curtis Knight took the loos ball from the ensuing face-off and fired it past Poulin to tie the game at 10-10.

At 2:09 Matthews gave the Rush the first lead of the game 11-10. Then at 1:29 Wesley Berg tied the game again 11-11.

Regulation time solved nothing, so for the second time in two days the Rush headed to OT.

Zack Greer ends the game in sudden death overtime at 9:56.
