"Every time he took a shot he said `Don't worry young fella, I get paid for this. I get paid for doing this to you'," - Kwame Brown

Absolutely my favorite Sheed quote.

The number one reason to Love Sheed is that he is fucking gone from the Blazers organization

How quickly people forget how great Sheed was. There was a time when Sheed's back to the basket game was the best in the league and he was the best defensive 4. I still think Duncan learned a lot of his game from playing against and guarding Sheed early in his career.

All of the sudden Rasheed is considered a better post player than Tim Duncan and a better defender than Kevin Garnett

Sheed was a great player, no doubt about it. Off court? Different story. Intangibles? Who knows...

Best PF to ever wear a Blazers jersey and has a ring.

And we've won what, 6 playoff games in the 8 years since he left.

We won 22 playoff games with Sheed over 7 seasons. Never missed the playoffs until he left.

One screwed up Game 7 of WCF and Sheed would have walked on water and revered by Blazermania. The guy was an unbelievable talent, sure he wasn't a saint, but his talent was undeniable.

He had all the talent but never put it together.

Looking at his numbers I'm kinda surprised he only had a PER of at least 20 once in his career.

every time I watch your gif it seems like Malone has less of a chance... which is great!

I truly enjoyed rooting for Sheed as a Blazer & Piston and also against him while at UNC. He was a big time talent for a Big and of course everyone loves his bubbly personality. Conversely Karl Malone is easily my least favorite athlete ever and he's getting his lunch packed in the finals as a fucking Laker

When was that time? Also, Sheed never even made an All-NBA defensive team.

I assume you posted this just to get responses on how ridiculous your post really was?

Sheed disappeared in that 4th quarter. That was his moment, as the best player and franchise player, and he choked. It took Chauncey Billups, Rip Hamilton, and Ben Wallace, along with an injured Laker team, to get him a title.

Garnett was on the NBA All-Defensive Team in every one of those years except 1998, and Rasheed wasn't on any of them

:dunno:

Mike and Mike homerism in this thread

His reputation as a prick kept him off those teams.

We lost that 4th quarter because of PG play.

Sheed was great. Just because you didnt like his persona doesnt mean he wasnt great.

I know Sloan didn't vote for him

Watching highlights of that Blazer team makes me sad realizing how far we are from getting to that level.

Here's the full fourth quarter of a 2000 WCSF game vs UTA:

That team had everything. sigh.

Mo Lucas was the best PF to ever play for the Blazers. Sheed was a SF in a PF's body.

Lucas had a stiff body like a center. Sheed had an elastic body like a guard. Rasheed Wallace was much better.

That team had everything. sigh.

Bob Whitsitt built it and Sheed haters, a minority who controlled public opinion, demanded it be blown up.

Ah, another Sheed thread.

Love him (as I did) or hate him, he mattered, as these threads attest.
