Saw it today. It's a masterpiece. Everyone must see this. I hope they show it in schools.

Like I'm going to take movie advice from a tv guy.

Next you'll be telling me he sings and does stage shows, too.

Movie was a disappointment. I thought it would be about my life as a mod.

"This movie was made just to win awards!"

So it was made to be good, then?

I liked Ejiofor in Children of Men and Redbelt but this one doesn't look all that appealing, at least to me.

"This movie was just made so white people can tell people they watched it on social media to show how non-racist they are!"

Actually, the movie made me feel guilty for being white. It's really painful to watch. Really painful. I'm glad I saw it though.

...what about "Out of the Furnace"? Have you seen a screener of this yet?

hence, white guilt and the need to tell people you saw it. its pretty common. The Butler was the one before that. And that dub step fighter pilot movie before that. And way before that it was saying "2pac was a poet".

Its like reposting Banksy on your instagram.

I think you're forgetting The Help.

It's hollywood. Special effects. Screenplay was written by someone over a century after the fact.

It's nothing like reposting Banksy to your...

Why in the FUCK would it make you feel guilty? You, like me, have never enslaved anyone, not should any of us be held accountable for what people did 100 years ago.

Whoa, you don't know if he was keeping slaves up until this point.

Portland is a weird place, you have liberal white people stricken with white guilt, and minorities calling them out on it, lol.

I saw 12 Years a Slave today, and it was quite good as I expected.

Watched it, didn't feel guilty. It made me angry. I was asking myself why the white woman would just sit back and watch this happen and then the one in the movie was a bigger monster than the men.

It really was fascinating sitting there wondering what I would do in his place, I just can't ever really know. I guess the desire to live outweighs everything, even freedom.

Good performances outshine the uninspired storyline. That was the story for most of 2013 "best" movies. Still, Woody is always fun and anything that deals with America hillybilly culture is always fascinating to watch.

I'm still working on my screenplay. It's about a black retarded Jew during the holocaust. Think I'll win any awards?

Sambo's List?

Forrest Goldmenngump?

How Steinmetz got his groove and freedom back?
