I-5 isn't a sidewalk. Sad story, but I need more details.

I'll probably end up going straight to hell for saying this, but whatever, 'Natural selection hard at work.'
:devilwink:

Re: 16 year old stuck after leaving the Blazers Game

Yeah...how did he end up on I-5?

Re: 16 year old stuck after leaving the Blazers Game

sucks, hope all is well in the end.

Re: 16 year old stuck after leaving the Blazers Game

He was developmentally disabled.

Re: 16 year old stuck after leaving the Blazers Game

Stuck? Think you need a 'r'. :)

I was wondering how the heck did he get stuck leaving the Garden?

Re: 16 year old stuck after leaving the Blazers Game

Wow, that's sad. I hope he pulls out of it okay.

Re: 16 year old stuck after leaving the Blazers Game

Is this true? If so, where was his guardian?
Supposedly he left the arena on his own will as he had contacted some RG staff on the way out.

Horrible story. Somebody really should have been looking out for the kid. The Rose Garden will probably hear about this one.

Good question but all I know is that from now on I should probably be more carefully after games when I'm dashing across the street trying to block traffic with a load of fans...

There's a entrance to I-5/84 on the NE corner of the Garden.

Maybe I didn't word it correctly.

Why would he step onto I-5? Seems like a boneheaded move to me.

I also feel for the driver of the car that hit him. I don't know if they weren't paying attention to the road or if it was unavoidable, but the guilt they must be feeling must be overwhelmingly.

Have you read the thread? He was developmentally disabled.

That's really too bad to hear. Makes you appreciate the fragility of life.

I agree not to bright. Maybe he thought he could hitch hike a ride.

Well, show me a link then.

You expect me to believe a guy online?

Well, it seems a bit silly to me to jump to "bone-headed" when it has been claimed that he had a developmental disability. It's possible that the person who said so was lying, perhaps, but I don't think that should be the working assumption, leading to blasting the kid who was hit.

wtf does developmentally disabled even mean? mentally challenged/retarded? or does it mean he had trouble learning at school but was still a competent person? i hate pc language.

You think its the Rose Garden's fault that a kid runs away from the building during the game and gets hit by a car?

I'm not blasting the kid, but if he's going to walk onto a highway, then he's making a pretty bone headed move.

If zagsfan wasn't lying, then obviously my statement doesn't apply, but until then, I'll call it like I see it.

Not lying. He was reported as "challenged" at the RG.

It is Sergio's fault.
