The issue with Bynum and Gasol vs. the #2 and Gasol is that it's another $10MM in salary they have to trade/eat. They can use the #2 to pick Williams and quickly rebuild their frontline.

If you're a big believer in Williams, I suppose that's true. I consider Bynum a risky but talented foundation piece. So in my view, Gasol and Bynum rebuilds the front line much faster. But at considerably higher expense, it is true.

I'll disagree with the chorus, and say that if the Wolves are offering this, the Lakers should take it. I don't trust Bynum's knees, and if I'm Jerry Buss, I get out from that contract and get a potential stud in Williams.

Ditto. Bynum is an accident waiting to happen.
