Awesome game, overall.

thanks joker, i really enjoyed that, brought back so many good memories.

Man, do you hear that crowd?
This is why Kidd deserves nothing less than a standing O on Friday night.

Screw that, it's the most important game the Nets have played since they joined the NBA.

It's also the best sporting event I've ever actually been at.

Well, I agree with sentence 2. It's probably the most important game the Nets WON. I'd argue that game 7 vs. Detroit in 2004 was more important - that decided the NBA champion, and who knows what would've happened with Kenyon Martin had the Nets won a ring that year.

I was semi-bitter with the departing of Kidd last season, but it's games like this that remind me how much he's done for the franchise. I'm still not sure if I would cheer or boo this guy, but if people want to boo him, let it be for just this game, we're not raptor fans after all...

Nope. Game 5 is the most important game the Nets have ever played since entering the NBA without question. If that game was lost, the Nets still would've been considered a laughing stock. To get the number 1 seed and lose in the first round would've been a disaster. People would think "same old Nets". It is unquestionably the most important game the team has ever played.

We absolutely would not have won a championship had we won game 7 in Detroit. We likely would've beaten the Pacers in the Conference Finals, but the Lakers would've swept us pretty easily.

I doubt that. Kidd was done after Game 5. If he'd been healthy, I think the Nets would have had a chance at the title, but the bottom line was that he wasn't, and we probably wouldn't have gotten past the Pacers.

Think about how bad Game 6 was. That would have been the entire series against the Pacers.

The Nets would've had no chance at the title, because unlike Detroit, New Jersey had no one that could do a decent job on Shaq.
