We all know that the Nets are targeting the 2010 Free Agency bonanza. Here is a list of potential Free Agents:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?p...reeAgents-09-10
Some of the Big Names:
Lebron James
Dwyane Wade
Dirk Nowitzki
Amare Stoudemire
Chris Bosh
Joe Johnson
Yao Ming
Tracy McGrady
Steve Nash
Shaquille O'Neil
Jermaine O'Neil
Manu Ginobili
Carlos Boozer
Ray Allen
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Richard Jefferson
Michael Redd
Peja Stojakovic
Tyson Chandler
Vladimir Radmanovic
Now some are franchise cornerstones, others complimentary star players or aging stars who could sign up for a cheaper price for one final run at a championship.
So just to get an idea of how competitive the environment could be for the Nets in 2010 based on how the league and each team is currently structured (of course a lot could change in two years but lets see how things look now) everyone pick a team and see who could be active in 2010 and how attractive that team could look for free agents.
I'll start with the Spurs.
The Spurs are amazingly set up at the moment for the 2010 free agency as well as being contenders for the title the next two years. Most of their complimentary players are expiring by the 2010 free agency. They could have potentially around 30 million to spend on free agents if the cap is set at around 64 million.

Their two main franchise players, Parker and Duncan, are still signed for several more years. Those two guys will be the lure to draw in free agents to remold a championship core out of. What if they are able to get a guy like Bosh and then fill out the rest of their roster with complimentary players or aging stars who would sign for cheap for a chance at the title? Eventually Bosh could be the guy carrying the franchise after Duncan (don't get angry Raptor fans, I'm just using an example).
So someone else pick a team from around the league and see if they are going to be players in 2010.
