thanks for the info stomp. Anyone know which bowl usually pulls more of the top recruits of the two?

Blackmon could almost be counted as a commit lol
of the All-Star games prospects I'm probably most sure of Wallace. Blackmon seems to really enjoy attention and may just be stirring the pot to have fun. Oregon was his first OV and he's scheduled for several more... lets see how he acts/twitters after the next one

Yeah, that's a good point.

Ouch... I wonder why.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. Scout is one of the more fickle of the recruiting services IMO. Its just much more accessible lol.

its also run by a bunch of Husky grads. I've noticed that for some reason UW recruits and prospects are consistently rated higher by Scout then Rivals. Maybe this bias I'm seeing extends to prospects who aren't considering the Huskies but will likely go to their conference rivals?

Interesting I wasnt aware of that. I did notice Dontae Williams for example went from 4* to 3* after he committed to the Ducks last year. hmmmmm

Further connecting the dots.... last year (2009) Scout rated Washington's recruiting class as having ten 4* while Rivals had them with five. Scout had Oregon with two 5* and six 4* while Rivals had them with one and ten

WR Kasen Williams is another example. Dude grew up in Seattle, both parents went to UW, & he's always been considered a strong Husky lean. Scout has Washington's new recruit as a 5* and the 4th best receiver in the land. Rivals, who doesn't have a rooting interest that I'm aware of, has him as a low 4* and the 13th best WR in the land. Some notables ranked below him on Scout include Oregon prospects Farmer #5 Blackmon #32 and Sumler #43... Rivals has the same 3 ranked 1, 6 (in the athlete category), & 20

lol thats pretty funny but pathetic. I always did think Rivals was a little more "professional" and better done than Scout. My only complaint with Rivals is I wish they had a Prospects list for each team like Scout does.

my goodness nevermind I figured out how to search my prospect recruits!! goodbye scout!!

I also love how Rivals has the attribute, followed by their rating at that particular thing.

I.e. Seastrunk was

Speed- "As Good as it gets"
Size - "division 1 player
Strength - Blue Chip
Agility - As Good As It Gets
Elusiveness- Blue Chip

Also I like the other players like this recruit feature

one thing I just noticed... Rivals has Anthony Wallace as a Medium with Oregon now.. but I heard after his USC visit or something that Oregon was in the top 2???

as a rivals subscriber I've noticed that the Low Medium High stuff isn't updated very often or seem much of a priority. Having read the articles and various insider's opinions, Oregon seems to be the one to beat for him. According to his quotes he wants to major in sports marketing and it's a priority for him to be able to play early. Oregon of course has a great sports marketing program with Nike inroads and Matthews and Paysinger are Seniors

awesome thanks for the info! Maybe I'll just fork over the $$$ or something to have access to all this.

Fresh off of leading (Gardena) Serra High School to an exciting 35-21 win over league rival Chaminade last Friday, standout athlete Marqise Lee boarded a plane to Eugene to watch the Ducks dismantle the Washington Huskies. Much like Serra, which has now won twenty-four straight games, the Oregon Ducks have been lighting up scoreboards and coming away with big victories in 2010.

Lee made the official visit to Oregon with highly touted teammates George Farmer and Jason Gibson, and all three came away very impressed with the program.

“They have great coaches, I love Coach Neal, great facilities and they have a place to practice even when it rains,” Lee said. “Everything was great, the school was great and the kids were great.”

With the successful trip the Ducks are moving up Lee’s list of top schools.

“They actually moved up from my five,” he said. “They were about like four, but now they are at least two or one. In my top five I have Cal, USC and Oregon - then Miami and Florida.”

Autzen Stadium is known as one of the most hostile places to play in all of college football, and Lee enjoyed the passion of the Oregon fans.

“It was amazing. It was a record of 60,000 people at the game,” he said. “Even though I didn’t know people, everybody knew my name. It was just pretty fun.”

On the visit, Lee was hosted by linebacker Josh Kaddu, and said he got a good feel for the chemistry of the team and had a good time hanging with the players.

“Going out with the players was great,” he said. “Even though I didn’t know all of them, I felt like I knew them.”

The four-star WR/DB has emerged as one of the top playmakers in California this season and is being recruited as an athlete, and could potentially be a two-sport star in college.

“They gave me the choice to come in and play receiver or safety,” said Lee, who currently has over 900 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. “Also, I can play basketball if I want.”

Lee will take an official visit to Gainesville this weekend, with teammate George Farmer, to watch the Florida Gators take on South Carolina.

He also plans to visit Miami in December, and will take his last official visit to USC or

Talks about his trip to Oregon

The Ducks played host to several of the top recruits on the West Coast this past weekend, and possibly the most talented prospect on hand was Gardena (CA) Serra High School WR/S George Farmer. Farmer, who is ranked as the No.5 wide receiver in the 2011 class, was thoroughly impressed with the play of the Ducks’ high-powered offense, which put up 53 points in a win over Washington.

“They are a fast team, a big team and are building,” Farmer said. “Their offense is amazing the way they get their receivers the ball. It was a great trip. I was really impressed.

“I got to see everything, the stadium, locker room, the equipment, everything. It was crazy!”

Like his high school teammate, Marqise Lee, Farmer currently has Oregon as one of his top three schools.

“USC, Cal and Oregon – and Miami, I still have to take a trip to Miami, so I am still open to them,” Farmer said.

While in Eugene, the 6-2.5, 210-pound standout had a chance to sit with the Oregon coaches and see how they would utilize his talents in the spread offense.

“I got to talk to each and every coach and they told me what they had planned for the offense,” he said. “They showed me some film and I could really relate to their offense.

“Everyone talks about the pro-style offense being an advantage going into the NFL but the routes really don’t change. You are running the same routes, catching the ball and showcasing your ability after you catch it.

“I don’t really look at the pro-style and spread offense because if you do what you need to do then you are still getting to go to the next level.”

One of the things that really stood out about the trip was the closeness of the team.

“Every teammate loved each other and they were there for one another. They had fun and joked but when it was time to get serious they got serious,” Farmer said. “They were like brothers up there, they had each other’s backs.”

Farmer will take an official visit to Florida this weekend and plans to visit Miami later in the year.

So is it unlikely to get these guys to commit until LOI day?

most bigger recruits who have a bunch of options like to take all their visits, and weigh all their options yes. Most of the bigger ones dont commit till later in the process like at the Army Bowl, or Under Armor Bowl, or even as late as LOI day. Dont worry I plan on being sick that day to keep updated ;)

hahaha

I would probably wait too. All the co-ed sex and free team gear I could want!

QUACK!

Go Ducks!

Every big time traditional program has got to start somewhere. They are going to talk about us like they talk about Bama's history now-a-days. In 30 years or so they will talk about this being the Oregon century (since 2000)!!!

Or so I hope...

Maybe in 30 years Kelly will be regarded as the JoePa of the West...

One can only hope, lol. (or not hope, whatever your opinion on Paterno is)

you guys wanna pool money together for a rivals account and share the password? lol
