The thinking here is to decide who the Blazers would pick at the currently-polled spot. Pick based on the current roster, even if it's unrealistic that the team could move up without making changes. If the guy you'd prefer isn't listed, vote for "other" and comment on who you'd pick. Ideally I'll change the options, although I don't anticipate too many "others" winning.

I plan on having each pick up for a day or two. Ideally, we'll end up with the community's "top 11" list, in order of preference, just in time for the draft on June 28.

Previous picks:

1: Anthony Davis
2: Thomas Robinson
3: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
4. Andre Drummond
5. Bradley Beal
6. Damian Lillard
7. Harrison Barnes

I like several guys here, but voted Soup Guy because I like his defense and his ability to get into the paint. I wouldn't mind Henson, Lamb or Rivers though. It it wasn't for Lamb's casual approach to things, he would be my pick. He does really have a good sense of where to move on the court and has a very nice shot.

BTW, I beat MM for the first vote.

I still think he blows up in the pros, so I picked Lamb

Seems like Lamb will either make everyone regret not taking him earlier, or he will end up taking the Beasley route through the NBA.

I voted Austin Rivers. I bet you can probably get him later, but I just have a feeling that he could be something special and a guy who could grow into a closer role.

I value Terrence Ross over all of these guys, with the possible exception of Henson. For whatever reason, I don't want anything to do with Waiters and even less with Lamb. If they go somewhere else and become the second coming of Wade, then God Bless 'Em.

This is really early for Ross, though...maybe Henson for value. But this is definitely getting into no-man's land.

I think I would be in the "Anyone but Rivers!" camp at this point. :)

I went with Waiters because I like what I've been reading about him.

Give me Perry Jones, because he's probably got the most "upside" of anyone left at this point. Boom or Bust.

A choice b\t Rivers or Waiters for me....

I went with Rivers, love that want to take that last shot instinct and the ability to take it...but I would not be dissapointed with Waiters either....

I still have a good feeling about Soup Jugg ... er ... Waiters.

Gotta be Sullinger. He has the most upside of those choices.

Gotta go Waiters here. I am not a big fan of Rivers' game... to me, his ceiling looks like Jamal Crawford, at best maybe Kevin Martin with less range... streaky shooter, good ball handler, but not as good a passer as Crawford. In the several games I saw Duke play this year, I felt like Rivers is a little bit of a black hole.

As far as Waiters, while I didn't see much Syracuse this year, I like Waiters' physical style; he's almost a power guard- a little like Bonzi Wells (although I think DW will be better). I like that he doesn't shy away from contact and finishes strong. DW is a better passer than Rivers, as well; his assist numbers speak to that.

The topper for me is that Waiters is a much more aggressive defender, having led all SG in stealsp40PA. Really the biggest knocks on him are conditioning and an only average handle, from what I have found.

Is it bad that your lead guard's "biggest knocks" are handles and conditioning, and that he doesn't have a long-range game?

Jimmy Rollins: "It ain't good!"

Depends on if you are a fan of Raymond Felton, I guess?

Where's the Henson love? Why does everybody only care about offense? But if you really do care about offense, then Sullinger is a no-brainer (mismatched legs and bad back and all) because, y'know, he actually scores. Austin Rivers should actually go undrafted.

I think after losing Roy and watching Jamal Crawford try to fill in for Roy, the offensive woes are just front and center. The Blazers have no PG or anyone worthy of being a primary ball handler. Oh yeah they also don't have a coach!

hmmm... no long range game, huh?

AR 36.5 from college 3
DW 36.3 from college 3

:tsktsk:

Yeah, no long range game.

He made one a game at 36.3%. He made .8 a game last year at 32.9% But don't believe me...here's DraftExpress.
Unfortunately for Waiters, despite his pick-and-roll and transition prowess, he's struggled to consistently perform at a high level in most other areas of offense this season, most notably showing troubles consistently contributing in the half court against top competition. While Waiters possesses good ball-handling skills, excellent body control, and flashes of potent jump-shooting ability, he doesn't have a true go-to skill in the half court if unable to simply overpower his man, while also being plagued by errant decision-making at times.

Waiters' jump shot is likely the area he can make the best short-term and long-term gains in improving his half court offense, as he shows a lot of potential in this area with his flashes of NBA range and ability to hit pull-up shots in space. He hurts himself here by often taking shots that are rushed, contested, unbalanced, or a combination of the three, while even his open spot-up jumpers are prone to bouts of inconsistency. Really buckling down in this area in either the pre-draft process or offseason should be his biggest priority going forward, and could do a great deal to ease his transition to the NBA game or take his game to the next level at Syracuse.

Numbers don't lie. The matching percentages are what I believe, not the difference between 1.1 PG made by Waiters vs 1.7 by Rivers. Gimme a break, you get another Mutombo 'til ya stop bringing the weak stuff.

Next you are going to try and tell me that Mr.33% (Beal) is the next Ray Allen...

If you've read anything of mine, you know I'm down on Beal--with that as one of the main reasons. But I did notice he shot quite well in the tourney.

Terrence Ross, however, shoots 5.5 a game and at 37% as one of the only perimeter shooters on the UW team. That's a long-range game.

If numbers don't lie, how are you going to say that Waiters has a "long range game"? What would be your definition of a long-range game?
