@ 6, I can totally see us getting Dame. CHA won't reach for him that high with 2. WAS/CLE dont' need PGs. And I think SAC is very happy with Isaiah, but they could possibly bite on him. But I doubt it.

Pretty astronomical rise to the top though.

I was wondering if Lillard was going to be our reach at 6 yesterday, that if we wanted him we'd probably have to snap him up there because you're looking at a risk of 7-10 trying for him... but now, it's kinda gotta be him at 6, torpedoes be damned. Run with a resigned Hickson, Batum, and LA as your front court, and draft a BPA wing at 11. Fuck size, go for leap.

I don't think he's nearly as explosive as RW, even if the numbers say otherwise.

It's similar to how BRoy has (had) a higher vert than DWade.

For Dame, I still stick with a more athletic Curry as my comparison.

or move up if Drummond falls and try to snag maybe the GS or Toronto pick so you can get both, a Drummond/Lillard draft could be a great haul

Ya, I am 6'2" with an 8' standing reach. He has to be better than that

6'1" in shoes with a 7'10" standing reach. 9.75" hand width, 9.25" in hand length. Wingspan of 6'4".

I'd measure my vert, but I'm not eager for a trip to the ER when an Achilles blows. :)

It's the S2 Combine!

I think a Lillard draft of any stripe earns an A- at this point... but moving up to get a higher pick would move that to an A+ draft. I'd love the 4 pick and play "Remember 2006?" with the draft.

Nice. I run the lane agility drill in 1 hour 37 minutes

"disaster" or most upside in the draft? That's how much risk and upside he has. Pick your poison, but IMO if you ever want this team to ever compete for a chanpionship at the #6 position if you can get a guy like that you have to take the risk and pull the trigger.

I know you have to pull the trigger. That's what scares me. Our track record with drafting centers is not great. And I go back to Larue Martin. I hope he is gone by then. And quite frankly I think he will be. But if he is not.....we have to grab him.

I wonder how they compare when Lillard's game translates different to the NBA like RW's did.

Unconfirmed but Tony Wroten reportedly had the fastest sprint time. No question he's one guy who helped himself in drills today.

Interestingly...
Lillard has also done a better job of taking care of the basketball thus far, cutting his turnover rate almost in half from previous seasons. This is quite an impressive feat, considering his heavy usage and how much his team depends on him to create offensively. To illustrate that, he actually ranks #1 amongst all NCAA point guard prospects in terms of turnovers per possession, coughing the ball up on just 10% of his possessions.

The large emphasis of the pick-and-roll game in today's NBA bodes well for Lillard, as he's shown to be very effective as the ball-handler in pick-and-roll situations. His ability to smoothly pull up off the dribble from deep range makes it difficult for his defenders to go underneath the screen, while his burst off the dribble allows him to turn the corner quickly and get into the paint.

Taking care of the rock well and running a P&R offense are basically the litmus tests for a PG in the NBA... I feel pretty good about that.

It'll be interesting to see Lillard's agility numbers.

Height/length/vertical leap are identical to Derrick Rose.

Jeez the more I read the more I want Lillard. Sounds like he could be a potential stud at a position that we need badly and that is very important in todays NBA.

Exactly. Players who can attack the basket with either hand, can shoot off the dribble, has mid range and 3pt range in their arsenal.........These are the guys with the ball in crunch time. Teams with PG's who can do this are in good shape.

Brainstorming...

Assuming we sacrifice capspace for the #10 pick (Emeka) --

How hard would it be to trade up from #11 to #8 (a pick that is available)

The Raptors are very high on Harkless and it would make much more sense taking him at #11 than it is #8...

Package the #6/#10 picks for the #2

#2: Thomas Robinson
#8: Damian Lillard

This draft would be on part with the Roy/Aldridge draft.

Why trade from 11 or 10 to 8? It's basically just leapfrogging Detroit, who already has Knight and Stuckey, and need and want a big. They aren't grabbing Lillard, so we can sit where we are and take him.

Also sounds like N.O. wants a bit more, apparently. Though I'd definitely do Okafor and 10 for cap space.
Other small difficulty in that situation is, that deal can't be completed until July 11th, so we'd basically have Detroit picking for Charlotte, who picks for us, who we pick for, which could end up too many pieces.

I don't think Lillard is going to be as good as some of you think he will be....and he is nowhere near Westbrook in terms of athletic explosiveness....not even close IMO.....

This is a case where comparing how a player measures up to another player does not equqte to how thier athleticism\skills measure out in a game setting.....

I am not overly impressed by what I have seen on video, his shooting mechanics are concerning IMO, he holds and shoots the ball low and in front of him, you are not going to be able to do that in the NBA...that shot will get blocked, or more likely he will get forced off that shot or will have to try and re-adjust it in mid form resulting in a poorer shot...

This really is crazy.

He jumps like this and he's the same size as LaMarcus Aldridge.

Henson is a freak:

6'9" w/o shoes
9'3.5" standing reach

That's only .5" shorter than Oden's.
