Zombie 2012 NBA Draft (7 Viewers)

Actually, it'd be a Robinson/Lillard frontcourt once LA switches off on the pick to guard the opposing point guard once again. :ghoti:

WINNERS:

1) Damian Lillard - Already regarded as arguably the top point guard in what is a weak floor leader crop, the Weber State star likely solidified his spot. He showed swagger -- and the best pure perimeter shot in the entire camp (yes, better than John Jenkins). He also displayed a high IQ -- which should enable him to be able to effectively run a team at the next level.

2) Dion Waiters - Unless this is one hell of a bluff from agent Rob Pelinka, the Syracuse guard has a promise from someone in the lottery. Maybe it's Houston, Portland, maybe Phoenix. Whatever the case, Waiters was told to leave Chicago on Thursday -- so he's a clear winner just for being able to avoid another day full of prodding interviews.

9) Jared Sullinger, Thomas Robinson, Austin Rivers and Bradley Beal -- NBA guys were concerned how they would measure, but each wound up breathing a sigh of relief. Sully checked in at 6-foot-9, T-Rob at 6-foot-8 and 3/4, Rivers at 6-foot-5 and Beal at 6-foot-4 and 3/4.

Second round flyer? Bigger, more athletic Dante Cunningham? Just throwing shit out there

Perry is seriously starting to intrigue me.

Lillard at 6! And if people really want to take the BPA at 11 it's no doubt PJIII. Dude has ridiculous potential. I think lma would be a seriously awesome influence on the kid. A draft of those two is ideal in my eyes

I'm not sold on PJlll...

For as big and athletic as he is -- he was very mediocre at Baylor.

I love Lillard, but I think I might take Robinson, MKG, Beal, Barnes and Drummond over him. You can most likely take Kendall Marshall at 11, sooooo.

15 PPG | 9.2 RPG | 2.0 BPG | 57 FG% | Big 12 Defensive Player Of The Year

Umm, no.

The Blazers should look to acquire both T-Rob and Lillard. That would be a wonderful draft.

I feel like to do that you are going to have to bite the bullet and try and trade for the hornets 10 and take on a contract. Then trade the 6 and 11 to move up to get the two. It would eff us in free agency but it might be better for the long run. How many more years is okafors and arizas contract?

Also if we are going after lillard who else might want him that might be able to knab him before us at 11? Only two I see are Toronto and hornets now if we trade for the hornets pick does anyone else see the raptors going after lillard? Or do they have bigger needs at SG/SF??

I'd be just happy to end up with T-Rob.

How can you pass up on the opportunity to trade up if you have the chance?

He is not a retard, give me a break...he couldn't recall any POR players big deal....I think anyone reading too much into that interview and making thier decision...err...opinion...on whether or not POR should draft him BASED on that interview is an idiot....

Given the (over)reaction, I am kind of sorry I posted the link.

OTOH, I stand by what I said. I had convinced myself Lamb was the best SG prospect in this draft. I have changed my mind.

I don't know if he is really not very bright, if he came to the interview stoned, or if he made a conscious decision to look bad because he doesn't want the Blazers to draft him. None of those options thrill me.

He is a young kid, who was at least honest about not knowing anyone....You have to remember this was probably some guy (Haynes) that he has no idea who he is...it isn't a team interview...

If he is guilty of anything it is a little immaturity...notice I said a little...that is not taking the whole process as seriously as some of his peers...but I certainly don't see that as a deal breaker....

How does Lillard affect free agency?

Do you turn your attention to filling the SG/C spot -- Brook Lopez or Eric Gordon?

with olshey, gordon isn't signing here.

POR would be better off with Dragic or Hill than Lillard....

We'd be better off with Marshall then Lillard.

A nice overview of the combine and the latest.........

• The Charlotte Bobcats are shopping the second overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, according to multiple sources. They have yet to contact Thomas Robinson, who many had penciled in as the number two pick after Anthony Davis. On Thursday afternoon, the Bobcats met with a number of players who are projected in the middle of the first round, such as Tyler Zeller, which indicates that they could be looking to move down. The Bobcats don’t seem to be in love with anyone at this point, which means a different team could be selecting second on draft night.

• Andre Drummond has met with the New Orleans Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats, Portland Trail Blazers and Philadelphia 76ers. He said each of the meetings went well and he’s enjoying the process. Drummond handled himself well during media availability. The knock on Drummond entering this process was his inconsistency and unimpressive motor. When asked about those concerns, Drummond said that he’s always smiling which makes it seem like he’s not serious or intense, but insisted that’s not the case.

• Damian Lillard decided to participate in Thursday’s workout, even though he is projected as a top ten pick. Lillard felt like he had to prove that he’s not shying away from tough competition, especially after playing against lesser talent at Weber State. “I’m not running from anyone,” Lillard said. The Portland Trail Blazers have expressed a lot of interest in Lillard and he may be the sixth overall pick.

• Moe Harkless helped himself on Thursday, shooting the ball extremely well during his workout. Since his college season ended, Harkless has been working on his shot with NBA trainer Dan Barto at the IMG Basketball Academy in Bradenton, FL. Harkless was one of the first players to begin training. At just 19 years old, Harkless is one of the youngest prospects in the class and plenty of executives are raving about his potential. “When people see me, they don’t see a finished product,” Harkless said. “They see someone that they can mold. I think that helps me a lot. The word potential gets thrown out a lot. It’s kind of like my middle name now.”

If we end up with him, I suggest Moe Money.

Pounce, Neil!

Hopefully this is true and not just a smokescreen. I think Barnes is a near lock to go #4 unless MKG is still there, so if Drummond goes at #5, MKG/T-Rob/Beal could fall to us.

Andre Drummond met with the Kings at the NBA draft combine, where team officials told him he would mesh well with DeMarcus Cousins.

"They told me we both could be interchangeable," Drummond said. "We both can do similar things, and if it worked out, we'd have a good chemistry together."
