Zombie 2012 NBA Draft

The third year is a team option, correct?

Not an option necessarily, just only guaranteed for 1 million if waived by June 30th of 2014. Which is nice because it is one of those contracts you can trade to a team looking to shed salary, and they can then waive him, so while I don't want him as a player, and don't like his contract, would happily take him on for the 5th pick.

With this move I think you have an interesting predicament:

*Draft MKG at #5 (if he falls there, of course)
*Let Batum walk

keep batum, he is one of the ten best sfs in the league (depending on the offer sheet) and trade him

I don't like what you're implying! But that T-Rob is suddenly starting to look very ordinary...

Let's cut to the chase: it's essentially a one player draft. But we knew that all along, didn't we?

Implying went away when the meds came. As for this being a one player draft, I couldn't agree and disagree more. Davis is the one "star" player in the draft ,but I think draft over most others in recent history has more impact players in it.

Sounds like Leonard could be right there with Drummond in the middle of the lotto.

Who woulda thunk it....

I feel like we could get Thomas Robinson and maybe even Tyreke Evans. If we have 6, I wouldn't mind Waiters or Lillard.

Waiters has come out of hiding:

Is that Rivers with him? They are the same height?

DX with an update, and my worst-case scenario:

#6 Damian Lillard
#11 Tyler Zeller

Two days ago Givony wrote this for his Yahoo.com mock:

Lillard and Kendall Marshall, will get extended looks here, but it's Waiters who has reportedly caught the eye of Olshey.

According to Chad Ford, the Raptors are talking to the Rockets about a trade that centers around the #8 pick and Kyle Lowry.

Houston is trying to position themselves to land Andre Drummond.

I'm happy we're not the ones giving them a high pick for Lowry. But this does mean they are going to keep Dragic.

Houston are also talking to Sacramento for their pick. Hopefully Neil will be aggressive enough to land this pick.

They have us passing on Dion Waiters at the #11 spot. I think he'll be gone by then, but if not, I hope we grab him instead of Zeller.
Second round picks of Kyle O'Quinn & Jae Crowder. I'd be happy with that.

Ford and Bucher say he's a lock for the top-10. He wont be there at #11. And I'm betting we're the ones who shut down Waiters' workouts. Like. A. Boss.
