If he could show his head was on strait and he didn't have any personality or brain issues, we would be well above Beal to me. I would probably put him at 3-4 range. Given his question marks, I would feel nervous taking him at 6 though.

If the #5 is available I don't see why Neil and Paul would at least try to screw things up for a conference rival.

If you get this pick it'll end their chances for Dwight Howard.

I think its more likely he is gone at #3 then on the board, but I could definetely see him droping. #2-5 prospects are all very similar. Paul Pierce and Caron Butler both slid to #10 when they were projected around #3 so you never quite know exactly what will happen on draft day. Yes I would be surprised if TRob dropped to us at 6 but far stranger drafts have happened before.

Also, how much do we really accurately know about NBA teams draft boards? We are going off Chad Ford and some DraftExpress website, along with local beat writers like Quick; I doubt any NBA GM's are giving their true plans out to reporters. For all we know Drummond could be ranked #2 on every teams board and TRob #6. Chad Ford is fed so much misinformation, posturing by agents, and quarter truths we could see some big surprises on Thursday.

There's going to be a learning curve. There always is. He hasn't played in the NBA. It's no different than a rookie. Whether he was a four year guy at a high major or whether he's played four years at a high level for a Euroleague team, there's going to be a curve. How we use our bigs versus how he's used over there, defensive coverages, things like that, we're going to have to be patient and give him some time to learn. I think he'll acclimate pretty well. Physically he's an NBA player. He has good instincts. He's a worker. What I like about him, he's a big-time motor guy, he plays hard every possession, both ends of the court. Maybe Neil can channel his Inner Bill Walsh and do something like the following:

Crawford+11 for Salmons +5
Wes to MIN for #18 and Webster's guaranteed-for-only-$1M contract, saving us 6M in cap space.
If we don't like #5, trade 5 for 7 and 30?

5/6 or 6/7, 18, 30, 41, 42 and 20+M in cap space

2 of 3 of Robinson/Drummond/MKG, Ross, Wroten, O'Quinn, Crowder and 20+M in cap space.

At the point, something like
Nash?/Wroten/Nolan
Ross/E-Will/Salmons' Contract
Batum/MKG/Crowder
LMA/Hickson/O'Quinn
Drummond(or Robinson)/Thomas/FA C

It certainly has the potential to be a fun day. Like the picks or not, it should be entertaining
 
don't get me wrong, there aren't a whole lot of opinions at draft time that I don't respect (except for mocks that have us taking Sullinger at 6). I know I've got absurd man-love for Wroten and MKG and irrational dislikes for Lamb and Waiters.

It's such a crapshoot that different likes on players is more debate than argument. At least, that's how I see it.

I like it. I'd then try to see if with 5, 6 and 18, we can package say 6 and 18(better than 4 and 24??) to get to 2 and draft at 5 and 2.

I do. I would give waiters a chance but syracuse stinks. I remember liking hakim warrick until he became so so inthe nba. Most syracuse players suck.

Give me the pedigree of ausrin rivers everyday over soup juggler.
