No truth to the rumor that the Rockets are looking to trade all their picks for Herschel Walker.

:biglaugh:

anything fun? Once I had to click more than 3 times to get through the top 10, i said fuck it.

Ya, it's a pain in the ass. Nothing fun. Lillard and Leonard for us

He does agree with something I think will happen though. He has Soup Juggler going to Detroit at 9

Who else is enjoying @dmorey 's performance this week? He just tried to trade his wife + kids to Sacramento for the #5 pick.

knight/stuckey/juggler. just dumped gordon.
Is Dumars looking for himself? He should be fired. Not just from that, should anyways. Such garbage.

If it were me, and I was forced at strap on point to draft Soupy, I would deal Stuckey and go super athletic with he and Knight

just needs to find microwave, rodman and laimbeer. He's getting the band back together.

Should have found a way to get Faried last year and he'd only need a high post center

isn't monroe more high post? although probably too soft for those pistons teams. And just realized he traded away his microwave in gordon. Idiot!

Beal: I just realized who he reminds me of . . . Hersey Hawkins. What do you think? 6'3" SG with a nice stroke and presidential demeanor.

Now, rumors are swirling that Portland could be the team that promised Dion Waiters. If that's the case, was the promise 6 or 11? Craziness.

This pleases Fez.

You're putting too much into this -- Ray Allen measured 6'3.5" at the 2000 Olympics, basically the same size as Beal.

I don't want to hear any more Ray Allen comparisons without production.

Martell Webster has one of the sweetest looking jumpshots I'ver ever seen ... trouble is it didn't go through the hole often enough.

Putting too much into this equals not just accepting the generic comparison from draft blogs?

Did I directly compare the two? No, my point is that his height shouldn't be an issue.

Damian Lillard on reports that his workout with Blazers was off the charts: "It was a great workout. It was just one of those days where I had a lot of energy. Well-rested. I just felt good... I did hear that they were saying it was the best since Kevin Durant, but they didn't draft Kevin Durant, so I don't put too much stock into it at all. I just try to focus on what I can control, and that's when I get to the workouts, showing that I work hard, showing my strengths and going to the next gig."

I'm not dead set on drafting Lillard, but when interviewed, he definitely comes across as an intelligent, thoughtful and confident, driven guy. From the little bit I've heard from him, I can picture him being a solid leader for a team... almost Brandon Roy-esque.

And my point had nothing really to do with him being too short, just pointing out that Hawkins had very similar style, size and charisma as Beal. Beal appears to be a much better rebounder though.

I've thought that, but didn't want to make that leap.

But the guy is obviously not only a talented basketball player, he is a high-character guy. I'm not saying he's the only option to pick at #6, but we need someone to come in and be a leader on this team. We don't have that right now. Brandon Roy came in and did that as a rookie. And I think Lillard could come in and be a leader as a rookie (maybe not from day one, but I could see it happening during the season), whether or not he's the most talented player on the floor.

My point was, height IS an issue if you can't get your shot off. Ray Allen may be the same height as Beal, but he's also one of the best shooters in the league at curling off a screen and getting his shot off before the defender knows what hit him.

Yes. We are sorely lacking that leader. If Drummond, Lillard and Waiters are evaluated roughly equal for talent and potential, I'd take Lillard every time for that leadership quality he appears to posses.
