Dallas got a full year to audition Mayo and decided to overpay for Ellis. While I agree that they have not been making the best decisions after the new CBA took effect, they are not a poorly run organization. I think OJ lacks the drive to be an elite player and the Mavs realized this.
I don't know if they're a well run organization or not, but they've struck out A LOT, and are now taking on "poor culture" guys.

RT @Jonathan_Feigen: Camby bought out & Mike Miller waived; Rockets have interest in both. Part of strategy shift from prospects to win now
Camby would be a perfect player to back up Howard and play a little PF. AT PF, he could do some of that high post passing into Howard down low. Mike Miller is a dead eye shooter. He would be perfect too. Nice pick ups if they manage to get them.
If only we had 3.75 mil available. We could have had him. That's very reasonable!
Doubt we could have even with the money. With the Mavs he is basically guaranteed a starting spot.
So who does Dallas have now?
Calderon...Larkin
Ellis
Marion...Vince
Dirk
Dalembert...Wright
Supposedly they are going to sign Harris for less money too. I guess that is a team that may be able to fight for a playoff spot, but they could just as easily go on some big losing streaks. If they are below .500 I wonder if they start thinking about trading away Dirk and rebuilding.

OKC, Memphis are strong suitors for Mike Miller, who cleared waivers Thursday afternoon, per source. Miller played for Grizz from 2003-08.
ACtually that would be a good asset for Memphis. They have zero outside shooting.
