So it's a battle for the birds. Gonna be interesting.

rivals West Coast guy Adam Gorney said Zack looks like his body would benefit from a college weight training & nutrition program like Oregon's, but he also praised the quick feet and tenacity he showed at a recent rivals camp. So maybe he drops a few lbs but definitely a good start to the 2015 class

Fun times. Can't wait for him. Also, did I hear word that Daron Payne said Oregon was his dream school?

Funny, I heard somewhere that Payne did. But who am I kidding, he's not leaving the Dixie State.

Whats the word on that Ross Donnely kid? He has us high right?

Okay, just saw a rivals interview with Deron Payne that came out today. He's listing all the schools he's interested in... Bama, Auburn, Florida State, Texas... but when asked what school he most wants to visit he says "Oregon, I like Oregon"

so rivals #3 ranked DT in the country has interest in Oregon, their #9 ranked guy (Jacob Daniel) is visiting for the Spring game, & their #3 overall recruit (DE Byron Cowart who probably projects as a DT) has the Duckies in his early top two.

Offers from Yale, Harvard, Vanderbilt... def has to be a high character kid!

We have interest in him or he has interest in us?

It's now mutual with Oregon currently doing their due diligence/process, but it's pretty much always the kid who expresses the initial interest and gets the ball rolling. The interview I read made it seem like Oregon is his favorite, but we'll see

Georgia DE Russell Ude relayed via twitter that he received his coveted Oregon offer this week. His comment...

spoke with coach Helfrich and I have been offered by the #OregonDucks THANK GOD

apparently all these elite DLineman prospects expressing Duck love haven't been listening to Eddie Vanderdoes who very tragically broke his foot...sniffle

Also receiving offers this week were Texas CB Kendall Sheffield, Pennsylvania DE Shareef Miller & Florida RB/Legarrette Blount clone Jacques Patrick. Oregon coaches are racking up the frequent flyer miles

In a recent rivals interview, Florida DLineman Byron Cowart was going through his list of suiters. While being asked which school he was most looking forward to visiting, he lit up & answered Oregon before the reporter was finished with the question. He said he was most looking forward to meeting coach Aiken and also wanted to spend time with the DC (Pellum) & strength/conditioning coach (Radcliffe).

I am feeling really good about this recruiting cycle.

Texas RB Soso Jamabo plans on visiting April 20

Oregon has offered yet another top ranked RB, this time it's Ronald Jones of Texas. He's been offered by pretty much the entire who's who of college football, but immediately named Oregon in his top 6.

Going be tough grabbing Jones and Jamabo out of Texas what with our crowded backfield, unless Marshall declares in his junior year.

The way the scholarships line up Oregon projects to have a small class this year (like 15 or so). As you note, the backfield is stacked with talent & thats true whether the kid viewing the depth chart is from Texas, Georgia, or Central Catholic HS in Portland. The depth chart is hardly top secret though, and top prospects seem to be really interested in starring in the Ducks prolific offense nonetheless. The productivity of Duck RBs, Gary Campbell being a complete stud & seemingly every starting RB going on to the League combine to make the likely 1 scholarship available a very attractive option

Grabbing one RB this cycle would be good though, and having interested form multiple RBs is good. I can see us targeting the Trenches mostly(3-4 O-line and 3-5 D-linemen) in this cycle, grabbing 1 RB, a DB and WR or two, and one QB.
