Don't get me wrong. I have the utmost respect for any good golfer. I couldn't agree more on bad players never getting better, the longer they continue to play. Without proper lessons, much like a Fundamentals Fielder's Coach in Baseball.

The 1st game I ever played, and about every game thereafter, without instruction. My first big mistake, without instruction. I felt my rib cages, had been punched on by ***George Foreman. The rest of my entire body, hurt more than a Football Game with Pads/Helmets. I hurt worse playing Golf, more so than the 2 weeks of Hell Week in High School Wrestling and Football.

I used to harass 80% of my buddies, all avid golfers. All had good instructors, and played some great Golf.

I'd say, "I can't play a game, where I hit the ball, and I have to chase it. I'd rather play a sport, where I hit the ball, and someone else has to chase it."

My way, of being a horrible Golfer, to those near Pro's, jokingly to get their goat; but the joke was always on me...!

VIVA-PGA....!!!

*** I came 5 feet of George Foreman, shooting a Video Commercial on Main Street Disneyland. I've never in my life seen any fists, come close to Foreman's. He could used his hands as dinner plates.

I used to read a magazine called "Ring" magazine..and during Foreman's heyday, it listed the circumference of his fists as being the biggest of any other previous Heavyweight Champ (up to that point).

And I don't know if you're familar with, or had heard about rumors the American "NOA" used their "influence" and muscle to fix that fight between Foreman and Ali.

Yep, its a cold cruel world out there...not a good thing for the naive and those living in Alice in Wonderland. lol

Sorry about that...I posted it TWICE. Oh well, read it and laugh.

No, I haven't heard of the NOA involvement, do you have a link to enlighten me. That would make for some good reading. Maybe similar to how the NY Govt, and PD, used their dirty powers to try to ban, Ban Johnson from bringing in a newly formed AL, and His Highlanders????

...lol...and 60 Million people "don't give a rats ass" what you think.

By the way Matt, I want to make a correction- it was Sonny Liston who had the biggest fist according to "Ring" Magazine.
My mistake, I got caught up with Forman, lol , he was one of my favorite "fighters" and American athletes.
I can still see him taking out his little American flag and waving it after he won in the Olympics.
But anyway, Ring Magazine had Liston with the biggest fist (at that point) of any heavyweight champ but the thing is, I don't recall if Foreman had become the champ yet and if he was included because there's no doubt in my mind Foreman has huge paws.....lol.
And incidently, there were also rumors surrounding Liston during his fight with Cassius Clay.....Liston seemed to just faint and become knocked out by a phantom "punch" from Clay.
Of course Liston eventually died from a drug overdose(?) .

Sorry if I seem to be picking on Ali/Clay but those were some of the murmurs and rumors associated with two of his more famous bouts excluding the ones with Joe Frazier.

Anyway, come to think of it...Ali isn't one of MY favorite American Athletes.

And that's precisely what's wrong with society today... No one should be doing something based on mob rule... Do what you want, but don't demand or expect all others to like it... I think golf is stupid & definitely not a sport, but I don't demand everyone's clubs be confiscated... Nor should 60 million people demand I like it. I didn't ask if 60 million give a rats ass nor do I care

...back up, NO ONE "demanded" that you like anything...not sure where you got that idea...you don't care for golf and that's fine but there are many others who do...it's as simple as that.
...and wtf does "society" have to do with whether someone likes a certain sport or not? That's a terrible correlation.

...personally, I don't get hockey but there are millions who do...but I don't go around telling people who do enjoy hockey that their game is "stupid" or not "entertaining" or "pointless".

I love Hockey. To see a game in person at the Arenas, is one great thing, never a dull moment, and fast paced game.
To watch it on TV is another, no different than Baseball, in many ways.

Tho' MLB has always been my first love, Football and Hockey Both share my 2nd favorite sport. But then, I was born with ice skates on my feet, and a stick in hand. I was one of the original Venice Beach Roller Hockey Leagues in Venice Beach.

MLB is in a League or Position of Intrigue, way beyond the other sports IMO.

...yup, I've never been to a live hockey game but people who follow the sport tell me that there's a huge difference seeing a game at the rink as opposed to watching replays on espn.
...this is why I won't slam a sport just because I'm personally not a fan of it.

Yep, well stated. Nothing like seeing a gorgeous blonde Super Model stature, get hit by a 100mph flying puck, hit right between the eyes, breaking the beauty's nose. Hearing the screams of oh shit they'll never be able to straighten this out. (as they shit themselves of beauty lost, if not their job too). While the Usher throws a towel or two to her.

Naw, that's not what I enjoy, tho' it is a sight to see.

I well agree, if one is not crazy about a sport, there is no need to put it down, simply because one doesn't find it interesting, while double digit millions think otherwise. I never put my Sons young aged love of WWF Wrestling or Choreography. My oldest Son should of gone Pro, as he had a Pro's average by Bowling, almost on a daily basis from 9 years old to 21. Girl Chasing got in his way to going Pro, a shame.

The one sport most boring to me on TV, not so much so in person, is Bowling. My father in law has watched saturday Bowling forever. But, I would never put it down. I found watching bowling on TV wasn't near as bad, when one's in the presence of a great Pro Player, and/or a Instructor also.

...lol...wrestling? Believe it or not, when we were both younger, my Son and I would watch "Monday Night Nitro" every week...we'd laugh at the ridiculousness of it...but we'd still watch every week.
...can't believe I admitted that.

Well 59, no need to feel you shouldn't of admitted to that. I used to also watch Mon. Night Nitro and Friday Night Raw, with my Sons. I'd have a field day, pointing out how those hits were choreographed, to my Sons who were hard core believers. On occasion we'd even PPV the Royal Rumble, and other yearly classic shows.

...oh yeah, it was as you put it, "entertaining" and we knew that most of it was staged, but like I said, we watched anyway.

... there are people I have met in my life and people I have read about who insist that the moon landing was "fake", and are strangely enough some of the same people who are equally convinced that wrestling is "real".

So how did we fake the sattelite images of footprints on the moon, landers, science packages and the buggies?

Sure Ron why the hell not? Hey I still watch wrestling Monday night raw. But I'll go you one better as far as boring sports for many people to watch. Being a shooter myself I enjoy watching billiards.

...lol...hey, you know as well as I do that there's no way to convey logic to people like that.

WWF - was ahead of the curve when they publicly stated years ago they were an Entertainment entity.

Great classic larger than life characters from the 80s and 90s.

I recall in one of their Wrestlemanias, "Giant Gonzalez"... the guy seemed to be 8 foot tall!

Rowdy Roddy Piper's Pit....he would do these outlandish violent "interviews" with other wrestlers...and I remember watching a particular match with Bob Backlund actually doing pushups outside the ring in "preparation" for an upcoming match with one of the participants while the match was taking place.

Must've been doing pushups for 20 minutes or so...lol.... good stuff.

And they sell out everywhere. I also read that they are among the elite as far as doing for the military. Its a fun & wonderful org.

Yep

I still smile and chuckle when I think about some of the stunts and things (20-30 yrs ago) they used to do.

One classic "match" involved Hulk Hogan with two referees who were twins.
One was the "legitimate" one who was on the up and up....so, during the match while Hogan turned his back playing to the crowd, the bad guys switched refs and put in a crooked ref they had paid off. The match resumed and the crooked ref counted out Hulk with a VERY QUICK count.....so Hogan gets off the mat flabbergasted and the crowd tells him what happened....Hulk's eyes light up with anger as he rubs his fingers together making the money gesture....he then picks up the terrified ref over his head and throws him into the crowd.

...I remember that guy...here he is against The Undertaker, who was a pretty big SOB himself;

All things considered they're really very talented athletes/Stuntman.

Wrestling.....now there is a sport that is a chemically level playing field.

Yes, very strong stuntmen/athletes/actors.
Its sort of like a mixture of Off Broadway, Soap Opera and Wrestling/Street Fighting.
Just what we needed to hold our attention - lmao

It has its place, always did way back when....it grew tremendously during the 80s.
I don't watch it as much as I used to in the old WWF days, but I found it to be very entertaining and fun.

The Ravens will get into the playoffs and face the stinkin Patriots again.
The Orioles will get into the playoffs and lose to the Yankees.
Every Browns fan will seek therapy.
Every Knicks player will be overpaid and be subjected to incredible media cruelty.
Bruce Jensen will come back as a "figure" skater.

FWIW, Tiger has just shot his worst score as a professional. Not exactly starting the year on the right foot.

Unless the Yanks get a rash of injuries, I'll eat my hat...err, words if they don't win at least more games than 82-84 and I think approx 90 is very possible.
I gave my reasons- offense should show considerable improvement i.e. Beltran, better production from 1b, 2b and probably LF/RF.
Infield defense improved - Jeter and Roberts ect had slow-motion range, lol, and were terrible on DP chances.
Pitching will be better than expected, that is, will be (IMO) just as "good" or similar as last year and maybe better.

Cards and/or Dodgers won't win their division.
Mets and/or Marlins will contend for WC spot (be alive in Sept).
If I HAVE to pick - Redsox yes or no winning record, I say yes.

KC will not make the playoffs this year.

Let's see how the teams look after ST and maybe update predictions.

>. Mets did you say Mets. They are cursed and their stadium is Not next to Lake Erie. .
