So does this give us the extra two million we need for Howard? ;)

How much would Horford cost?

We need this guy.

BBert has already spent the $2 mill ten different ways and times, lol.

How much do teams actually have to spend next season? How this season all of the players we're going to get extra money since we didn't meet the minimum salary.

Man, I'd really love to land Horford AND Jimmy Butler, if only there was some way to do so without giving up Dame or C.J. Butler is big enough to play SF in today's NBA. He's a lock down perimeter defender and a 21 ppg scorer. Horford is also a solid two-way player. He's a solid in the low post on both offense and defense, but also an efficient midrange shooter and one of the best bigs in the league at defending the pick and roll. These are the kind of two-way players we need to add to our roster to take things to the next level. We need to improve our defense, without sacrificing our offense.

This article Al Horford is a Defensive Monster is a little over a year old, but it's a great read and gives examples of how, and reasons why, Horford is so effective in defending the pick and roll.

And, then there is this (which has been previously posted): Best Potential Landing Spots for Big Men Al Horford and Joakim Noah.

I know Horford is older than our core, but he's an experienced veteran whose game relies more on smarts than athleticism. Landing him would be a huge get for Neil.

Pipe dream, I know, but I'd be happy if we get one of these guys and then also add a less expensive upgrade at the other position.

We will never have to worry about having enough money to sign a player again thanks to Lillard.

Anyone who Lillard can't get signed on with Adidas he can personally sign them with his record label.

Paul Allen being the very public music lover that he is, will always buy a few million copies of a player's album.

I think it's 90%of the cap for the floor.

I've update my team calculations in the CAP thread (stickied) -
http://www.sportstwo.com/posts/3921575/

This CAP increase will also increase Lillard's salary next year to around $24.2M.

I estimate:

CAP Space: $5,617,720

Max Space: $44,249,064 (renouncing rights to all free-agents/CAP Holds and Non-Guarantees.)

Estimated max salaries:
0-6 yr vet: $22.0M (example: Whiteside)
7-9 yr vet: $26.4M (example: Horford)
10+ yr vet: $30.8M (example: Howard)

You might as well include our restricted free agents in that list. Harkless, Leonard, and Crabbe.

So keep leonard, harkless and crabbes cap holds, renounce henderson, roberts, and kamam. Trade plumlee for a future 1st and use all available space signing howard :D

Nothings changed there

renounce henderson Roberts Kaman and crabbe and go for Horford and Butler.

Why hasn't anyone else noticed the elephant in the room?

HCP actually was correct in his math. I guess those years of tutoring have finally paid off.

I actually stole that from a sports business tweet. Was too lazy to give credit.
