Theo Howard decommits, Mayden may follow suit too.

bummer about Theo, but BRO... REALLY it seems the sky is ever falling for you. We'll see whats really what in February as nothing is binding until then

WR is probably the position where Oregon is most stacked with talent. Pretty easy to see how rival coaches could get into TH's ear and point out that a Redshirt year was in his future in Eugene and who knows after that? Nelson, Carrington, Allen, Brown, Ofodile, Merritt & Lovette (7 guys) all will have at least 2 seasons of eligibility left after this next season is completed. Because of the quality depth there I will be surprised if there isn't more attrition within their WR ranks as guys want to play

Conversely, early playing time is clearly available at Corner Back. I'm sure Coach Neal is in JM's ear pointing that out today

Unfortunate about Warner, but better now then later on especially with some of the DBs who are scheduling OVs for this fall. For those who aren't aware, that list includes Nigel Knott, Nigel Warrior, Brandon Jones & Lamar Jackson. Not sure about composite, but per rivals they're all rated among the top 100 prospects in the country at any position.

Heres some prospective about how this recruiting cycle is going despite the recent attrition. Last cycle (2015) at this time they had 11 verbals. In 2014 they had 8 & in 2013 they had 5. This year they've already got 12. Last year this board was repeatedly assured that the restriction on Official Visits via the Willie Lyles BS would bite them, yet at the end of the cycle they still had 10 OVs left over. I'm excited to see how it plays out

May be going for 3 star Eddie McDoom to be our replacement for Howard at WR. The DB's you list are all extreme long shots.

Hell of an offer sheet for a (high) 3* in Mcdoom. Mayden says he's a lock for apt he ducks too. Surprised you didn't post Daigots :)

The DB's you list are all extreme long shots.

Shocking to see your glass is half full on the news of 4 top DB prospects scheduling Official Visits... never saw that coming

Personally I don't consider any prospect who takes an OV to Eugene a long shot as the Ducks have had an extremely high closing closing rate (well over 50%) with kids who visit in the fall. While I place zero stock in the 247 guessers you seem to revere, I have seen recent interviews with each prospect I listed & feel best about Knott & Jones. That said, Oregon has zero DBs running out of eligibility following this season though as a Redshirt Junior Reggie Daniels should be on pace to graduate. The glowing sunshine Neal has been relaying about DB play these fall practices makes it seem like alls well regardless of how things shake out with recruiting this cycle, but we shall see.

Seth Green not shining at Elite 11, even worse he officially lost the QB competion at his school. Already being raw, this can not help his development unless he kicks it in gear himself. Expect is rating to drop across recruiting agencies probably to a 3 star.

now that practices and scrimmages are over and the season has started, the talented new kid has beaten out the kid with years of experience in the program... sound familiar? Friday night Seth went 8-13 for 210 3 TDs in the air, 8 rushes for 53 yards & 2 TDs on the ground. ESPN, Scout, rivals & 247 all still have him as a 4*

Seth's Friday night highlights

And as expected Oklahoma QB Terry Wilson has flipped from Nebraska to Oregon giving them two big athletic QBs in this class

Mississippi CB Nigel Knott will be visiting Eugene this coming weekend on an Official Visit. He's said he'll be announcing a commitment shortly thereafter though he's also stated that he'll be taking all his OVs. Of note, he tore his meniscus and will be missing his Senior season. Also visiting this weekend is California Safety Lamar Jackson.

Annnnnnd now Jackson's visit is being rescheduled. Sounding like he's a Trojan to be & not someone the Ducks want to waste an OV on

Our 4th highest recruit (composite) decommits. Troy Warner.

Troy has chosen to join his brother Fred at BYU... good luck to him.

In other news, highly ranked Texas DE/TE Brandon Bowen is scheduled to be on an OV at this weekend's contest. Oregon likes him at TE

the Utah dance card has added a couple of highly rated DLineman. Ohio's Prince Sammons & California's Bryson Young have both scheduled.

btw... most speculation was that Mississippi CB Nigel Knott was going to announce Bama this week, but following his OV to Eugene last weekend he has decided to push back his decision. Fingers are definitely crossed

Seth Green decommits.

Unlike yo yo yo JHop (who is the source of that rumor), AJ at rivals actually contacted Seth today to ask about if there was any validity to him reopening his recruitment. His response..."No, lol"

who to believe... JHop or the kid himself?

Oregon lands a couple exciting prospects. Last week saw the commitment of Eugene QB Justin Hebert. He comes from a spread offense, is 6'6, athletic & has a more then adequate arm. He's flown under the radar of the sites as he was injured just after the start of his Junior season missing all the offseason camps as well, but he's got a very impressive highlight tape & gaudy stats thus far this season. I expect he'll be climbing into elite status from the services by signing day.

Yesterday brought the commitment of California DE/LB Bryson Young. Big, fast/athletic & a solid student he relays that the coaches are projecting him at their Drop DE/Outside LB spot.

According to the big O, Jared Mayden "considering de-commitment".

I don't get too worked up over any kid's verbal. Nothings real until February and even after that things can fall apart. They're making one of their biggest decisions in their young lives and having some doubts seems pretty normal. However, consider that his Mom and top 2018 QB prospect brother Jalen just paid their own way out to be with him on his OV which he "loved". On the trip his brother was quoted as saying that Oregon is the only school he ever talks about. Following an OV to Michigan he was quoted (rivals) as saying he couldn't see himself there. USC was supposed to be his 2nd fav but they've just fired Sark so he's ruled them out too. My speculation is that he wants to keep taking cool trips to big games while Oregon wants him to stop playing so they know he's theirs and they can recruit accordingly

I think he'll say he's all Duck shortly. In February we'll know for sure, sort of

Whoops just saw end of Stomps post. Sounds like same idea.

Perhaps the sky isn't falling as fast as the doomsayers are hoping? Earlier today Duck commit Jared Maylon reconfirmed he's all Duck as expected. On top of that, highly rated Michigan LB and recent USC de-commit Daelin Hayes has scheduled an OV on November 21st vs the Trojans.

the twitterverse relays that California WR Dylan Crawford finally received an Oregon offer. He's a speed burner who has openly pined to be a Duck... pretty likely he ends up one

STOMP

Oregon hosted a few kids on OVs for the Cal game including Australian Lineman Thomas Schaffer. He claims to be interested in UO because he's grown up a big nature lover & they were the team he rooted for and played on PS3 while growing up. How awesome is it that kids in Australia are growing up rooting for Oregon? The Ducks are supposed to be recruiting him for their DLine

in just 10 games (so far) in his Senior season, Oregon verbal WR commit via Tennessee Dillon Mitchell has a whooping 35 TDs. He also just sent off his official signed enrollment papers so that he will be enrolled for the Winter term in just over a month.

STOMP

The Ducks recently offered Florida WR Eddie McDoom who plans on visiting this upcoming weekend. He's got good size, great speed & according to his coach both the work ethic and a love for blocking the Ducks target. He's also got offers from many of the top programs in college football. What are Oregon's chances of landing his sig? Below is a picture of his bedroom wall...

Also visiting this weekend is California Safety Lamar Jackson. He's used up his Official Visits & is paying his own way to Eugene. He claims he'll be announcing near signing day.

Stopped recruiting Crawford, with the signing of McDoom and Wallace at WR along with long time commit Mitchell we're done with WR for this cycle.

Strong posibility our now 3rd highest ranked commit Vavae flipping to USC on signing day. He is visiting USC's campus now.
