2016 Summer League

Blazers should hold a press conference, announce all the summer league signings as if they were major free agent signings, have Dame say how eager he is to play with them, have Stotts say they'll be great additions to the team, Olshey talk about the art of the deal and how they were never sure until the last minute that we'd get them signed, etc.

This would be just to get other teams to sign them, I suppose.

Weren't we linked with Christian Wood at some point last year? He got 20 points in 15 mins!

Real star for Boston was Terry Rozier: 18 points, 5 assists, 6 points in 26 mins. They're stacked with tough little guards.

Wasn't Kyle Anderson MVP last year? At any rate, he's on the way to back-to-back (the Steph Curry of Summer League) with 25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in 26 minutes in a blowout win.

Well, with Shaquille and Scotty on the team, we should win a few games.

Bachynski could surprise a bit. This is Vonleh, Montero and Connaughton's time to step up and see how they have progressed.

What happened to that PG we recently signed with ties to Portland? He's not playing summer league?

Mike James? Was never signed. I think he's in Portland only to work out then back to Europe.

TRAIL BLAZERS ANNOUNCE 2016 NBA SUMMER LEAGUE ROSTER

PORTLAND, Ore. (July 5, 2016) The Portland Trail Blazers today announced their roster for the 2016 Samsung NBA Summer League, highlighted by returning Trail Blazers Cliff Alexander, Pat Connaughton, Luis Montero and Noah Vonleh, and 2016 draft pick Jake Layman for at least five games in Las Vegas from July 8-18.

Alexander, Connaughton, Montero and Vonleh all completed their first campaign with Portland last season. Layman, the 47th overall selection in the 2016 NBA Draft, was acquired by Portland in a draft day trade with the Orlando Magic in exchange for a future second round draft pick and cash considerations.

The Trail Blazers will tip off their NBA Summer League slate on Saturday, July 9, at 1:00 p.m. against the Phoenix Suns at Cox Pavilion. Portland will follow up its opener with a game on Sunday, July 10 vs. San Antonio, before closing out the preliminary round on Tuesday, July 12 vs. Utah. The first two games will be played at COX Pavilion, while Tuesday’s contest will be at the Thomas & Mack Center. Both facilities are located on the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus.

Hm. this Bachy dude has some good stats and highlights.

Considering people are talking up Dewayne Dedmon (who?), this guy can't be much worse. 7'2, 250? Why the hell not

Pierre Jackson - hope he recovered from his Achilles tear and can get back to playing like this:

For D-League and Summer League, I always pick a favorite player. With no Crabbe, this time it's Bitchynski. I gotta look up his stastiskis right now.
