There was a game today? I was distracted by the NHL playoff game.

Lebron is now the all time playoff scoring leader.

  • 1. LeBron James - 5995
  • 2. Michael Jordan - 5987
  • 3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - 5762
  • 4. Kobe Bryant - 5640
  • 5. Shaquille O'Neal - 5250
  • 6. Tim Duncan - 5172
  • 7. Karl Malone - 4761
  • 8. Jerry West - 4457
  • 9. Tony Parker - 4012
  • 10. Larry Bird - 3897

Unless it is opposite the NHL, I'll probably watch some of the finals.

LeBron is going to add so many more points to that total too. Maybe no-one catches him in history.

For me, Tony Parker is the most surprising name on that list but he did play a lot of games.

Oh my goodness, who could have possibly predicted this match-up! What an amazing season of drama and build up to an uncertain outcome.

Won't watch a single game. It will probably be a very good series but the season has been complete garbage and one series at the end doesn't change that.

I'll watch elimination games for the Warriors to see a Durant face.

Great series. It was expected because these are the obvious best teams in their conferences. A lot of MVPs, possible future Hall of Famers and All-Stars in their primes. Probably the DPotY too.

Haha. Even if he wins, will he be all that happy? It's not like he's had to bust his a$$ at all, to win this year.
Seriously, what an accomplishment after all those years of playoff disappointments and blowing a playoff lead against the Warriors, he FINALLY overcomes all obstacles by joining the Warriors! What a story! Hope it doesn't happen. Go Cavs.

Who gives a fuck.
People who like to see a great game played by amazing athletes at its highest level.

Seriously--people want to denigrate this series and the league in general because we all knew it was coming, the regular season was pointless, the playoffs were just coronations in each conference, Lebron's not Jordan, Durant's a mercenary, Thompson's overrated (either one), Green's dirty, etc... None of that erases the fact that these two teams are playing basketball at a caliber that is arguably unmatched this millennium.
  • Steph and Kyrie's ball-handling.
  • Steph, Klay, and Durant, against Korver, Smith, and Love's long-range bombing
  • Lebron and Durant's all-around amazingness
  • Green's defensive mastery
  • Love's rebounding and outlet passing
  • Golden State's dizzying ball movement
  • Other points of intrigue I'm sure I've missed
Let your hatred of either/both of these teams--or the inevitability of the league this season--cloud your perspective if you want, that's your prerogative. But if you simply love basketball, this finals series is sure to be a beautiful display of it. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

A team that won 73 games added the 2nd best player in the league. Sure they are great...they better be. There is no competition. They may be great but if you put so many great players on one team it really isn't good basketball because it eliminates competition. Great competition makes for great basketball. Otherwise, it's just a skills exhibition....boring.

And that's of course assuming that they have no competition, which is completely unfair to the defending champions who are playing better this year than they were last year.

As stated before, one series does not save a season. A great 1% does not mask a crappy 99%. Garbage car with a great paint job....not interested.

Not trying to justify the season. I'm looking at this series as a stand-alone. And in those terms, I fully expect 6-7 games of excellent basketball.

It should be a great series and I'll be watching. No way will I watch that miserable game known as hockey. I'll watch the Beavs in the CWS though.

Thanks for covering the 'who' part. Want to take a crack at the 'gives', 'a' and/or 'fuck' part now?
