My philosophy for this draft -- who'll mesh well with ......Nurk.

Markkanen is a player that I think Collins will cause to drop to around 10/12-ish.

He finished as by far the best 3pt shooting 7-footer in NCAA history - has a skillset that meshes extremely well with Nurk. His post game is mediocre but not bad. Not a player that you're going to ISO. His lateral foot speed is a little iffy too - I just hope he doesn't turn into MyLo while defending the p&r. This is the reason why I've been kinda lukewarm on him.

Offensively, at least early in his career, he's essentially a 7'0" Kyle Korver - automatic from three. He'll be a lot more dynamic once he tightens up his handle.

Thankfully he'll be drafted before we get a chance to blow a pick on him. I respect your opinion though. I just disagree when it comes to markkanen. I do agree about complimenting Nurk. Good thing is finding a compliment shouldn't be as hard as finding another Nurk. We got the hard part out of the way.

Outside of Dame, CJ and Nurkic, this team needs quite a bit of additional talent. Whether it is via the Draft or a consolidation trade, there are lots of places that need help.

I think he's as 'flashy' as an 18 year old, 7-footer as you'll find.

When I think of "flashy", I think feel/ball skills/passing, especially when talking about bigs and he's below average right now in those areas.

I think Markkanen has too much Ilyasova/Ryan Anderson to his game, not that that's a bad thing to have but I'd prefer Nurk's frontcourt mate to be in the mold of Paul Millsap, but that's just my opinion.

Johnathan Motley could be a lesser version.

Not sure how the torn mcl affects his draft stock though. Might not be worth using our cle pick on him, but he's a guy I still like a lot for us.

I think we should roll the dice with Giles if he's there with our 2nd or 3rd pick to pair up with Nurk, it sounds like he has the potential to be pretty good if his knees don't explode.

not a chance, too many knee surgeries and he showed little signs this yr

I think that's why we have 3 picks, assuming we don't trade any of them one should be used as a flier like that. He's at least more exciting than the 2 later guys Draftexpress has us taking: Donovan Mitchell (who?) and TJ Leaf. Although also in that DE mock they have Ivan Rabb in-between our last two picks and I'd take him over Giles.

Fair argument for Sumner over Mitchell although the ACL tear kinda scares me off, especially considering how much of his potential is based on his quickness and explosion. I'd take PJ Dozier over both if he declares fwiw.
Wish granted:

a flier? don't have that luxury with out cap situation, if we don't consolidate picks and use two if them to move up then we have to use one of them to get rid of a contract like Meyers Lemon or one of the other overpaid dregs

no we have 3 picks to either consolidate or use one to get rid of a bad contract which we have a plethora of

Yeah sign me up for our pick + mem pick to move up for Collins plus Dozier with the Cle pick.

That certainly came out of nowhere.

PJ shoots up to #1 on my power rankings for the Cleveland pick.

This kid, man. Once he shoots with a bit more consistency...watch out. SG version of George Hill.

Thanks everyone who has made posts. I'm trying to keep up, but cant. SO the info on players here is priceless!!! Keep the info and opinions coming!!!

i like the idea of trading 20, 27, and crabbe for kings 1st pick and use that pick on jonathan isaac then use the 15th pick on patton, hartenstein, or kennard

Low risk, high reward -- especially late in the first round or in the second round.

I just don't think we should move up at all. We won't get high enough.

In 2014, Chicago traded the 16th (Nurkic) and 19th picks (Gary Harris) for the 11th pick (McDermott).

Harris and Nurkic have both been far better than McDermott.

We have 15 and 20. Those could get us up to 10 (maybe?). Not worth it.
Outside of Jimmy Butler, the Bulls have been horrendous drafters lately so I'm not sure this is the best example to use for not trading up in this draft.

If our pick plus the cle pick gets us in position to draft Zach Collins, you do it imo.

We need to go big. This series is making it clear that you aren't a contender with tweeners starting at PF/C - unless they're uber cerebral like Draymond.

Zach.

Collins.

We're literally missing our starter, and his backup. Yeah we could upgrade Davis, but we are still in a position to draft BPA.

We'd be set if were to come out of this draft with Zach Collins and OG.

OG in particular would be huge in this series. OG's defensive IQ and size -- he's an archetype for the modern NBA defender.

He's a jumpshot away from being a really intriguing prospect - he'd go in the 13-17 range if he did.

And I don't even think it's that bad. His misses are rarely left or right, it's just his release point/timing that gets out of whack at times.

His stats and knee will cause him to get overlooked by a lot of teams, but there is no way he falls past the Spurs at 29. He's exactly the type prospect they look for.

Jeanne has ridiculous wing-span and a ridiculous agent.....same clown that Batum had during the T-Wolves negotiations.
