I'm pretty sure I drafted white. Every week I had Beckham he was complete garbage, wish I could've had that pick back. Adams and Cooks were good for me, but Evans the weeks I had him couldn't catch a freaking football to save his life lol. I get what you're saying. I admitted to lacking patience with some guys that I should have stuck with. I still have Rodgers and only have him because I had brees and I'm not sure I would keep brees, he's like what 40(?) he's going to slow down eventually.
I didn't draft well from the get go to be honest, no one's fault but my own. My top picks were Beckham who I kept for a while and he had like one td through the 1st 6 weeks, and Fournette who spent most of the season playing madden, and then I got the rams defense lol.
I think if this was a keeper league you would've had to keep the Rams D just out of principle, ha ha. Honestly though, think of how much different both your season and the draft would be if you did have to consider how it effected your team in future years as well. A guy like Ingram would probably have more value in a trade because whoever got him could keep him as a Round 9 pick next year. James Conner was a 14th round pick. Aaron Jones was a 13th round pick. James White was drafted in the 15th round by Perez.

I really thought I drafted white, I had him for a long time. Maybe he just got dropped quick?
If it was a keeper league and I had to think “long” term that would definitely change a lot.

I think it sounds fun. Answer me this. If I keep my 1st rounder and also did a trade for another player who was a 1st round pick and I keep both. What picks do I lose?

That's not how it's ever worked in any keeper league I've been in.

League agrees how many keepers each team receives. Let's say it's three. Every one announces their keepers like a week before the draft, which means, in essence, the first round of the draft is really round 4. You don't take into account or incorporate what round or pick any player went the previous year. Fresh start.

In my experience you would then lose your first and second round picks in that scenario.

You can certainly do it that way. In that scenario each team would just keep their 3 best players and the 4th round would start with almost all the good players off the board already except rookies. In mine there are a lot more layers and strategy to the draft and trades. For example Odell Beckham would probably not be kept because no one would want to lose their 1st round pick for him. In your example he'd almost for sure be kept.

I wouldn't mind doing it that way, I just don't like the idea of letting the last place team getting to pick 1st in the first 4 rounds like Bones suggested.

I just dont like the idea of another year where I try to trade you for Kamara and McCaffrey every week lol.

I know, me too! Just think though if we started a keeper league YOU could be the one who has Kamara and McCaffrey for several years. Although you'd probably just trade them for crappier players anyway.
Maybe Kamara especially after Ingram came back, but McCaffrey is the only thing Carolina’s offense has so nope not much Id trade him for. I shouldve picked up one of those two with my 1st instead of OBJ...

Just make it easy and use ESPN's trade rules. No reason to complicate it, keep it standard.
It doesn't make it complicated at all. I'll veto any trade. Simple lol. It's how we did it last year.

I'm not saying the standard keeper format is the right format. I actually like your format. I simply had never heard of it or participated in it. I'm ALWAYS down with trying out new formats. Speaking of which, I would love to toss the idea around about this becoming an ALL PLAY league, or *gasp* - total points. I know people poo poo total points but it's the truest measure of a managers ability. All play is the closest, I think, you can get to total pts while still keeping head to head matchups.

FYI, no one is beating @trailblazer18

I really like my team, and I KNOW I'm not going to beat him. Fournette is back strong and Diggs is his flex? Are you fucking me? Rodgers and Mahomes? Antonio Brown and Cooks? Barring injury - this shit is over.

Oh, what the hell he traded Rodgers lmao. Brees? Samesies.

I dunno you, trailblazer 18 and bobo gots some good freaking teams going on. Even HJ has a shot if those backs have a big game.

I really should've started Reynolds. I knew when Cupp went down that Reynolds basically took up where Cupp left off.

With the rules the way they are, I'm not sure how you stop teams like the saints, rams or chiefs.
