Also, Simons is a year away physically.

I do wonder about this. Sure Simons will be star struck a bit, but he is 6'2.25" 183 lbs. (combine)

Trae Young was 6'0.5" and 178 lbs
Collin Sexton was 6'0.5" and 183 lbs
Shai G-A was 6'4.5" and 180 lbs
Holiday was 6' and 187 lbs

And Napier is listed at 6'1" 175

It's not like Simons is a stick figure.

Who said he was supposed to be muzzled? Is there an article on it?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-as-espn-and-others-agree-not-to-scoop-picks/

According to Awful Announcing, ESPN has instructed all of its reporters to not tweet out picks ahead of time, should they learn of them. Previously, only those actually covering the draft for the network were barred from giving anything away, but others not involved directly with the live coverage could use social media to share their insights.

Another league broadcasting partner, Turner Sports, which will have its own live draft show on NBA TV, has also agreed to refrain from revealing picks ahead of time (per The Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps). So has Yahoo Sports, which previously employed Wojnarowski and which has a reporter, Shams Charania, who has developed into a font of breaking NBA news in his own right.

“We spoke with our media partners about our preference that ESPN’s exclusive broadcast rights be honored,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass said Tuesday, “but each organization will make its own editorial decisions.”

Yes. Then, he got scooped right away by Mark Stein. So, he said to himself, "screw it, I'm not getting scooped again" and started in with the tomfoolery. Understandable, if you asked me.
Must have a real fragile ego.

BTW, all these media types singing praises for Woj last night are pissing me off. Just like Woj did.

He was apparently muzzled and still went about spoiling the picks in his own self-aggrandizing way. WTF is the point of tipping a pick two minutes before they announce it? We get it -- you have inside info. Stop being an ass. Also, the dude should NOT be on TV-- terrible fit.

Can't believe ESPN fired their whole truehoop squad (shout out to the OG Henry Abbott) and Marc Stein, et al for this clown.

Wouldn't it make sense, if you didn't want to be tipped, to just not look at twitter for a bit?

He was essentially reading his tweets verbatim on the ESPN broadcast. Couldn't even mute him/Shams on twitter. I guess it's much ado about nothing. He just comes off as an ass.

Perhaps. But his career is based on having those scoops. If he's sitting on information and someone else is out there posting it instead of him, he loses his value.

And as I mentioned previously, he looks a lot like Fultz.

Remember when most people put the "project" label on LMA even though he was very physically ready coming into the league? Far too many people believe what they read and can't use their own eyes.

Bigger than DeAaron Fox, and similr to Tyler Dorsey, both who got minutes as well.

But they are old enough to get that summer league trophy. I want that trophy lol
Damn I want to go to Summer League this year. If it were one week later, I'd already be booked.

This is really damaging to Woj and others if true:
Atlanta Hawks general manager Travis Schlenk had his sights set on picking Maryland guard Kevin Huerter in Thursday night's NBA draft, so much so that he was willing to trade up two spots to make it happen.

But Schlenk said Friday in a radio appearance on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco that thanks to a leaked report that revealed what other teams ahead of Atlanta were doing, the Hawks knew they could hold tight at the No. 19 pick instead of making a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks for the No. 17 spot.

"Last night, for instance, we had the 19th pick and we're coming down and we're actually talking to Milwaukee on the 17th pick, talking about trading up to get a guy we like," Schlenk said. "There were a couple of guys we felt really good about on the 19th pick, obviously Kevin (Huerter) was one of them, and it leaked who Milwaukee was going to take.

"So, all of a sudden, we were able to pull back out of that deal and keep the draft pick instead of packaging picks to move up because we knew that two guys on the board we felt really good about and only one team in between us so that was beneficial to us last night."

The Bucks ended up taking Villanova guard Donte DiVincenzo with the 17th pick in the draft.

Guaranteed there are no woj-bombs next year.

That's not on woj, though. If you're the bucks, don't tell someone who you're taking if you're in trade talks

I initially said Hawks were the losers of this draft but after thinking about it I actually reckon they might have done fine.

The idea behind Young and Huerter backcourt is that they are going to emulate Curry and Thompson lite. While I think they won’t be anywhere near as good, they could easily become the two best shooters in this draft and that’s already a big advantage. They should also be pretty fun to watch. Spellman is another player that should shoot all right and could fit their Warriors lite.

The Mavs pick should be a good one. It’s top 5 protected but Dallas will likely not be a bottom 5 team next year. They aren’t good enough to make a playoffs push, even if they sign Boogie, so I would probably have it ranked 6-12 next year. They also own that Cleveland pick which is top 10 protected, if LeBron leaves I can see Cleveland being bad enough to end up in lottery but if they keep Love they could end up just missing the playoffs - pick 11-14 is possible. Atlanta themselves will be bad enough to get a top 5 pick too. That’s actually a big war chest and with the next draft being so wing heavy they might be able to add a couple of big pieces to that roster.

There is some logic behind the moves. I think getting that Dallas pick is underrated. Doncic will be much better than Young in all likelihood but if Young ends up being just a good NBA player and Dallas pick ends up no. 7 or so and lands them Reddish/Williamson etc. that could still be a very good deal.
