Seattle and San Francisco (for whatever reason) have always held back on drafting WRs.Seattle probably gonna pick DK.
They need weapons.
A locker room of huge ego’s and skill players, I just think by around game 8-9ish they’ll be .500ish and pointing fingers.Implode? Why would they implode?
Seattle has drafted quite a few WRs, a lot in a recent memory... Golden Tate, Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett, Amara Darboh, I’m sure I’m missing a couple.Seattle and San Francisco (for whatever reason) have always held back on drafting WRs.
When was the last one? None of those guys are solid except for Tate, who was drafted a while ago.Seattle has drafted quite a few WRs, a lot in a recent memory... Golden Tate, Paul Richardson, Tyler Lockett, Amara Darboh, I’m sure I’m missing a couple.
Wait... what? Lockett is one of the best WRs in the NFL man. He just had a 50+ catch, 950+ yard, and 10+ TD season, not to mention Wilson had a literal perfect passer rating when throwing to Lockett last season. When was the last one? Those guys are very hard to replicate, and I'd be scared as a Seahawk fan if they're trying to replicate almost impossible to replicate players. Seems like a team would overvalue the similarities and undervalue the dissimilarities.Looks like Seattle is trying to reproduce Michael Bennett and Kam Chancellor with their current draft choices. The similarities are astounding.
Extremely hard, but even if they can replicate 75% it’s a win. Those guys are very hard to replicate, and I'd be scared as a Seahawk fan if they're trying to replicate almost impossible to replicate players. Seems like a team would overvalue the similarities and undervalue the dissimilarities.
He had one solid season, but I still don't view him as a solid WR. Probably have too high of a standard for what "solid" really means but -- Those TD numbers likely won't hold up. 57 catches on 950 yards is okay, but not solid IMO.Wait... what? Paul Richardson also got paid a ton by the Redskins because of the ability he showed in Seattle.
Context FAMS... Seattle is a run first team, our receivers RARELY go over 1,000 yards. Lockett has always been a good receiver, top 5 surest hands in the league. I suggest watching some tape on him, it’s impressive, his route running, hands, body control, and field awareness are elite. He had one solid season, but I still don't view him as a solid WR. We had Jimmy Graham too, it doesn’t matter how much talent you have when your offensive line gives you two seconds (if that) to throw, our receiving core/tight ends were forced to improvise as much as Wilson was over the last 3 years. Luckily, things are changing. And I'm looking at recent seasons for Seattle - The past 3 or 4. IMO, Wilson makes Baldwin and Lockett look better than they really are. Imagine if they had real threats on the outside. With their iffy RB situation, they either need to commit to getting Wilson more talented targets in the passing game, or they need to make a move to upgrade at RB, instead of recycling "high-upside" guys that can't stay on the field.
Yeah, a run-first team with mediocre RBs, and with a great QB. What does that say about the WR-group? Or the coaching staff?Context FAMS... With the offensive line improving, the receivers lives become a lot easier.
Meh, I refuse to believe it's just the offensive line. You have the best improv QB in the league and instead run mediocre RBs into the ground. We had Jimmy Graham too, it doesn’t matter how much talent you have when your offensive line gives you two seconds (if that) to throw, our receiving core/tight ends were forced to improvise as much as Wilson was over the last 3 years. Also, that dude fell off a cliff production wise, even with Aaron Rodgers. Wouldn't call him all that talented anymore. We had Jimmy Graham too, it doesn’t matter how much talent you have when your offensive line gives you two seconds (if that) to throw, our receiving core/tight ends were forced to improvise as much as Wilson was over the last 3 years. Man, the offensive line is the most important thing in football (I’m mad we neglected it so long). It really was that important, you’re a Niners fan, could it be your bias that is holding your view back? Also, Carson is not a mediocre back, he finished with IIRC the 5th most rushing yards in the NFL while sharing carries with two other backs.Meh, I refuse to believe it's just the offensive line. On a legitimate playoff team, I don't see Baldwin or Locket as a WR1. Locket is a borderline WR2.
Graham just had 50+ catches and 600+ yards last season, that’s really good still at TE (top 10).Also, that dude fell off a cliff production wise, even with Aaron Rodgers. Wouldn't call him all that talented anymore.
I know it's important. Not saying it's not at all.Man, the offensive line is the most important thing in football (I’m mad we neglected it so long). He's not a Top 5 TE anymore. Maybe not even Top 10. He had the privilege of having Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball while trying to come back from deficits all season.Graham just had 50+ catches and 600+ yards last season, that’s really good still at TE (top 10).
He did split carries, I think you’re underestimating how much Seattle ran the ball last year. Mike Davis had 100+ carries, Penny had 80+ carries, Wilson had 60+ carries. Wilson only had the 20th most pass attempts in the entire NFL (was still sacked 50+ times). Carson also missed two games to injury (was banged up a ton) and had 13 combined carries the first two weeks of the season on top of that. For him to finish with as much yardage as he did is amazing, considering his 4.7 yards per carry on heavy usage.I know it's important. Not saying it's not at all.
First off, your a Seahawks fan, you're going to be biased. Trying to say he "split carries" but he had many more carries than Joe Mixon, Christian McCaffrey, James Connor, Melvin Gordon, etc. He was 7th in the league in carries. 4.7 average is solid but not great. He doesn't catch passes. He had the opportunity to play awful teams in San Fran and Arizona for a quarter of his season. Arizona was the worst run defense in the league. He's an average RB at best. I could probably name 15 RBs better than him.
Seahawk fans tend to get carried away with labeling players as "good". I know Rawls had injury issues but fans got carried away with him. Penny too. Now it's Carson.
But your using "split carries" and "missed games" but "was still 5th in rushing yards" to try and make him sound better as if he didn't carry the ball as much as he did. That's a typical biased-fan argument. He's definitely not a top 10 RB.He did split carries, I think you’re underestimating how much Seattle ran the ball last year. I think you’re sounding like quite a hater.
