Absolutely use the water. Reduces impact and gives consistent resistance for movement. front lunges. Side slide, Back pedal. All of it will work in the pool.
Im trying to figure out how to cut, and slide, and actually resemble some one who’s actually played basketball, but also I want to bend my right knee as little as possible. I think doing those things in a pool will help.
I literally dont think I can stay in front of a shadow right now, but past about a 20 degree bend my knee starts to lock up, and it hurts a lot. Hasnt stopped me from playing, but it has stopped me from playing well lol.

I ain't a doctor and i certainly don't know the condition of your knee but strength/resistance training is always the first thing on physical therapy agenda. The stronger the knee gets the better for everything you do. Even trying to move without bending. The idea you should be looking for is trying to avoid re-injury. But you still want some quality of life to go with it. Part of that would be making sure you don't just quit everything and gain weight making your knee have to work even harder doing just basic tasks. The more you move and keep in some kind of physical shape the better off you will be. You are now in the "If you don't use it you lose it phase".
Whatever works for you i wish you the best. Keep your head up and remember it is not about perfection. It's about improvement. Small incremental improvements will keep you healthy.

Why is your knee locking up? Did you have a previous injury?

I had a major knee injury 7 years ago, and I need to have surgery done on it. I gained quite a bit of weight since then, and since February(ish), Ive been working out pretty frequently, but its gotten a lot worse the last month and a half ish. After my wife has this kid, I will probably go on and let them do a knee replacement.

If you are going to exercise, then you should do it in the pool with water aerobics to displace the weight off your knee as much as possible.

I will, but since Ive been getting on a basketball court the last few months, my love for playing has definitely come back. I start feeling weird if Ive gone a few days without at least getting some shots up. Basketball is such a fun game.

I say enjoy what you do! I still run and swim every chance I get.

Went to the park to shoot around and ended up filling in as 6th for a group of friends. Half court - my cardio is in fine enough shape for it. Are we putting a team together again this year? I’m in if there’s a spot open, game seems to be coming along smoothly.

Look forward to getting out with y’all again!

I cant make it this weekend. Sorry. Im installing an egress window in my basement tomorrow aNd have to work on sunday.

I'm still in for Sunday if anyone wants to play, but totally understand if you guys play Saturday without me.

If you guys don't want to play Sunday I'll probably just go play at 24 in Hillsboro in the morning.

Feet look good, release seems a little low (but its fine you’re tall!), elbow looks good. Follow through looks good. From The pocket to release looks quick enough! Overall, looking good!
Thanks! I think thats the best my form has looked, so I'm glad others think it looks solid! I've always had a low set point but I have a higher set point for mid-range pullups and jump a lot more on them. I dont shoot many contested 3s so its never been much of a problem for me.

If TPFKATHCP shows up is that one guy going to cry and not show up like he said earlier in this thread. I've been hitting the stair master since the season ended and feel better than I have in years. Also played in my boys game out in his NIKE league last week and was pleasantly surprised with my play.
I don't want somebody to NOT show up though just because I'm rolling thru.

And plus, we know you wont actually show because then you would be associated with us nerds. Cant have that.

It's a quick release. High. Very little wasted motion. VERY little "dip".

Scrub status. You cant ball fams.

Are you guys playing this weekend? Would you mind if I join again? Knee’s actually feeling pretty good this week, been getting a lot of basketball in too. Though our gym has got to figure out how to make it less than like 90% humidity in there lol...

Dude, you don't have to ask permission to play with us, lol. You're part of the crew and everyone from the forum is welcome.
