Will be somewhat interesting to see if Portland extends qualifying offers to Hoard, Brown, and Gabriel today. Gabriel seems like a lock, the other two who knows.

Did this happen?

Love Bogie, but he's no final piece.
I dunno if there has to be a specific "final piece" for our team, when it is more about filling in around Dame. And he'd fit in great as a 4th creator in the lineup and a good shooter from deep.
That being said, I don't think it happens. I wish. I like him a lot. I imagine we go MLE, and then fill in with minimum deals.

Did we extend QOs to Gabriel and Hoard?

damnit, why was I thinking free agency started tonight. I saw friday, and different spot saw the 12:01. booo

There are so many centers on the FA market. I bet we can get a good one for the vet min.

Portis would be a great backup PF. I suspect he'll get more $ than what I'd be willing to offer as a Blazer fan.

Clearly he's worth more than MLE, but who can/will give him more? Not NY--they just cut him. Not ATL--they already have Collins at his spot. CHA? Maybe...

If I'm Olshey, Portis' agent (Bartelstein, hmmm...?) is my first call. And not for him to be a backup, but a long-term starter.

Portis sucks. Career 53 TS% as a big man. Doesn't play defense. Character issues.

Why would we want him?

Bertans would be a huge get as well - anyone know what he’s looking for?

poor guy thought the same

talk about shitty agent.

Wonder if he would take a full MLE deal (from us, haha). Detroit doesn't have the cap to sign him to a contract bigger than that. And no team has meaningful capspace besides the Knicks, Hawks and Hornets.

I suspect a multi-year full MLE deal would entice A LOT of the players on the market, especially given that there aren't really that many good ones.

I saw Ed Davis got traded to the Knicks who now have approximately 4000 PF/Bigmen.

he's at 5m for next season then off the books - i always loved his passion n hustle in our squad. surely we could get him back????

For his first big payday? Ain't happening. He's getting ~15 mil/yr in my estimation

Wanamaker wouldn’t be a bad backup point

There will be good players out there with not a lot of teams having cap space. One problem for Portland, is that if almost everyone has the same amount of money, players will go where they think they have a better chance of winning, or if it's close, perhaps a place with a better tax environment.

Dame needs to get on the phone and start rapping some persuasion.

Detroit does not have his bird rights, and the Ariza trade has effectively moved their cap space number to around 9 million, which is MLE money.

Don’t give me hope.
