good player that will most likely get a lot more than the MLE, hence the opting out.

I do wonder which teams will be giving these guys those contracts. There aren’t many with cap space. Could we see more sign and trades?
I just think we'll be seeing a lot of sign and trades. I think both Grant and Wood will get to their new teams that way.

All of a sudden I’m much more intrigued by free agency than the draft lol. Looks like Neil is finally going for it. Probably means he only targets proven vets, but I’ve never trusted him in free agency. I love the Covington move though, so maybe he pulled his head outta his ass.

I want a center (who isn't whiteside) for Nurk insurance, and a good backup PG. Unless Zach is ready to go. If he is, then we don't need another C, and can try to find shooting elsewhere.

Hope Olshey doesn't go dumpster diving to fill those spots.
what we do all depends on Collins' status i think. He's a better backup C than anyone we can get in FA. If he's good to go, I want to focus on getting a PG or maybe even bringing Melo back only in a limited role.

Another interesting thing about this trade is it opens another roster spot with the first rounder going to Houston. Assuming Hood and Gabriel return and they use their second rounder, Olshey could add up to three free agents.

I've been too caught up on election stuff, haven't refreshed on Blazers for a while.

Do we need to use our MLE to retain Trent? We have his bird rights, correct?

This year? He's not a free agent. We just have the option to extend him early.
oof missed that one. saw bobby marks tweeted extension stuff about GTj and missed the point.

Dame/ CJ/ Hood/ RoCo/ Nurk

with Simons/ Bradley/ Trent/ Collins as your nine man rotation.

I think that's a sick mix of skills with a potentially loaded bench. I want a PG and to move Simons off the ball, but Bradley is just too good as a role player imo to pass up.

From your lips to Olshey's ears...

Cousins with the BAE
Kris Dunn with part if the MLE
Evan Turner for the Min
Beljecia absorbed into the Trade Exception

i have Evan Turner PTSD. Dunn is intriguing. Don't need Cuz I think. I'd rather keep another roster spot open.

We’re a Christian Wood away from having a complete and perfectly balanced starting five.

How do we get him now without Ariza’s contract? It would have to be a sign-and-trade because Wood will be making more than the fill MLE right?

We cannot get him. He won't go for a discount in his first payday, especially with all the shit he has gone through. He was close to be cut from the 15man roster last season and now he can cashout big on a 20 good game sample, he won't pass it up.

Btw i think he is better as C compared to PF. Extremelly talented player, but i'm not sure about this court awareness, this is mostly the reason he just got his chance. Every coach he had so far didn't trust him to do what's right despite the great flashes of talent.

Dude! You need to move off the Simons thing. He's not ready. Not saying he can't help some, but he is a ways off right now.

I'd be good with:

Sign Milsapp.
Sign Shaquille Harrison (prefer him over Bradley by now, Shaq is not a playmaker, but can be paired with either CJ or Dame ).
Sign Damyean Dotson.
Trade exception to Sacramento for Bjelica.
Bring in Trevelin Queen and Nick Richards as undrafted camp invites.
Grab Immanuel Quickley in 2nd round. Wanna bring in some additional playmaking.
Resign Gabriel.
Maybe see if you can grab a big body like Biyombo or comparable to back up Nurk.

Dame / Harrison / Ant / Quickley
CJ / Trent / Dotson
Covington / Hood / Nassir
Milsapp / Bjelica / Zach
Nurk / Gabriel

I think after getting RoCo signing Millsap makes more sense. RoCo can easily cover the 4 so we won't need more than 20 mins from Millsap which he can provide hopefully. This hoping that his last playoff run was just an outlier because of the bubble situation. He was much better in regular season.

I like the Harrison idea a lot, he’s a great defender and a cheaper alternative to Bradley.
