So the BAE is still available to use and we are not at the apron yet.
Who do we want for that?

I like bringing back Nic..... he could play backup point guard but he could play multiple positions.

With that said, the guy was absolutely awful last year. He had a massive drop off from 2018-2019 to 2019-2020.

I want them to sign me for that. I dunno who the rest of you want.
They could sign both of us. No need for the extra roster spot. I'll let them buy me out if they want. Or they can just have 2 for 1.

Okay, all of this Shaq Harrison chatter, so I had to go look up some of his game film due to seeing so little of him playing for the pathetic Bulls.

He certainly improved his 3-point shooting this last year. Would hope that isn't an aberration. How much PG can he play or at least be a playmaker?

I want a scrappy defensive pg who can pass the ball, I’m not even worried about one who can score.

do we know if Olshey even chased him? or Millsap? or anybody but Jones?
No, we don't know that he chased him.

We do know, however, that the Clippers were a better team last year, are in a more desirable location, and are expected to be contenders this season, so it's highly probable that no amount of chasing would have resulted in Ibaka choosing the Blazers.

that would leave some margin but they'd have to be doing an uneven trade. Like 8M for 5M. That's cutting it tight

I'd think if Portland is willing to go over the tax line they'd still want to leave a little room under the apron for a future trade
I doubt they go into the tax this year. This is the year for Portland to 'reset' to avoid the more severe repeater tax.

could be, although that reset actually takes a couple of seasons out of the tax. It's a rolling 4 year period that's the gauge

prior to Melo, I had the Blazers at around 129M. His salary charge would put them about 2M below the threshold. So if they are avoiding the tax, the BAE is dead for now. They could squeeze in another vet minimum or Gabriel. They might actually a little more room because the salary number for Nurkic is all over the place

Rivers would be a great fit for us. Is scrappy and has the experience we need over Simons. Do we have the cap or offer to make a play for Rivers?

Rivers isn't much of a PG but he did play for a minimum last season

Some more: "A bevy of advanced metrics, though derived from a tiny sample size, back up Shaq’s impact. ESPN’s Defensive Real Plus-Minus rated him third among point guards in 2019-20, one spot behind Kris Dunn and two ahead of Chris Paul. If you toggle the minutes minimum down to 479, Five Thirty Eight rates him second among point guards in defensive RAPTOR, and fifth in overall RAPTOR (don’t trust everything you read on the internet, kids). The Bulls were 11.6 points per 100 possessions better in 2019-20 with Shaq on the floor than off (10.3 points per 100 better defensively,"

SSSSHHHHHHHHEEEEEEIIIIITTTTTTT! They could sign you and your 2 potato head brothers to fill out the roster and they'd still win back to back FAMS!

Hey, I’m a total mercenary so I’ll proudly wear the piss and purple, sit back on the bench and watch the games for a minimum contract. Mrs. HCP will miss me though . Think she’d like to be a Laker Girl?
