Did we use the BAE on Crabbe/GTJ/Layman? Genuinely curious.
I don't think that's true about having to use cap space, I think you can always go over the cap to sign a player to the league min. We definitely didn't use the BAE on those guys because most of our second rounders are signed in consecutive years.

I read somewhere on a twitter feed that the Blazers have had Ant working on handles and passing since the bubble...he's going to be the backup guard...hopefully he's a quick study
Ant said that in an interview and I commented that I hope he's working on defense too. Many in here said that has to be done through in game situations which I didn't exactly agree with.

No, it is true. Crabbe GTJ were not signed for years allowed with the minimum.

In a perfect world I would want Dame and CJ playing 34 minutes a night during the regular season. But we need those PG minutes for CJ so that we have minutes for GTJ.

I don’t want Trent playing small forward. We have Hood, RoCo, and DJJ that should be getting minutes there.

So where do we find minutes for Ant?
When healthy I honestly don't think there are minutes for anyone outside of Dame, CJ and Gary at guard, Covington, Hood, Zach, DJJ and Melo at forward and Nurk and Enes at center that's a ten man rotation all of whom are used to getting major minutes. All of our young guys Nas, Ant, Giles, Elleby and whoever gets the two way will only be used in case of injury and major foul trouble because I honestly think we'll have a ten man rotation this season and that's a lot for the NBA. No room for anyone else to get regular minutes.

I have a few insiders down in LA telling me that the Lakers are holding off on offering the SUPERMAX to AD because they might offer it to Whiteside instead!

Well, your insiders suck, FAMS!

(But we didn’t really expect you to have inside intel.)

Andre Roberson would be interesting - only 28 and is finally healthy after his 2 year hiatus.

BAE can be used at the deadline on buyout candidates, so it's a nice tool to have in case we are competing against another team with only the vet min.

Plus there are no more minutes for anyone else. Sign some two-way players to develop/use in practice and we're done.

Cousins and Len gone. Whiteside still available.

TBH, I bet Whiteside has a deal in place with either Sacramento or Charlotte that will probably be announced after one of the Bogdonavic/Hayward deals are final and done with.

Kind of funny that Hassan seems to receive little interest and not by good teams. His stats couldn't be more empty.

Hollinger is saying Kings are interested in Whiteside, so prob. They make the most sense.

Hassan finally removed all mentions of being a Blazers on his IG. Changed his photo to one of him holding his hand to his head like a phone. Guess we'll find out where he lands today.

My money is on Charlotte.

Yet we seem excited to get 2 players that their former teams weren't interested in and no other teams seemed to have an interest in getting. DJJ from a winning team and Giles from a losing team.

It's a seems a pretty sure bet that when you get a player from another team that they weren't interested in keeping them unless you just outbid them or they were unhappy...that's most of free agency beyond the high price tag allstars...Mo Harkless was buried on a bench and Melo was out of the league.....I don't see former circumstances always having an impact
