Our defense better be ELITE next year.
Unfortunately unless we severely cut CJ's playing time we will still have major problems on the perimeter. When it comes to perimeter D the old adage (and I don't like using those) is true, you really are only as strong as your weakest link and CJ is a very weak link. We have an opportunity to have a fantastic, lock down defense but it would take playing Gary, Jones, and a hopefully healthy Hood a lot more minutes than I project being available based on CJ's past PT. Even though CJ is making an ungodly amount of money, if Stotts could see the light and use him like LouWill our defense would be absolutely elite. The good news is that we now have the personnel to lock opposing teams down when we need to. That's a luxury we just haven't had for a long while.

What if Covington is going to start at 4 and Hood is going to start at 3?
That would be their best spread the court set of forwards though a 6'6.25 209lb PF & a 6'7.25 208lb SF would be among the smallest pairings in the league. Now combine that with their undersized backcourt...

STOMP

Give Mudiay the minimum or some shit Wanamaker

Looks like the MLE is very competitive on the market. If RoLo can get just under the MLE....

Id say there say could be a trade brewing.
It would be nice if the Derrick Jones Jr. signing meant that we were moving CJ for another position.
Its very possible we could make a trade before long.

NVM re: Marcus Morris

4 years 64 million, christ....
What that means to me is the market for Ibaka and Millsap is either way above the MLE or they've slowed down so much that they aren't effective defenders at the 4 anymore.

That is fuq’ed up. Now I don’t feel so bad about how much we spent on Derrick Jones (still a little though)

Dame, CJ, Hood, RoCo, Nurk, Gary, Jones, Zach, Enes, Nas, Ant

So what's left? Signing someone with the BAE maybe a PG, getting Wenyen a little raise with the non bird exception, Elleby signed to Olshey's traditional three year min contract for a second rounder and then a two-ways maybe Hoard, Brown or someone else.

The Warriors are great defensively and Steph Curry is CJesque in his defense.

Was away for a while and come back to the Jones news.

Olshey's performance this year was like my senior citizen sex life - start strong and then total collapse. Unless there was an organized boycott against the Blazers, there is no way this was the best they could have done!

Guards still available:

- DJ Augustin
- Avery Bradley -- most likely can't afford him
- Jeremy Lin
- Kris Dunn
- Bryn Forbes -- prolly my favorite of the lot.
- Shaq Harrison
- Shabazz Napier

2 decent trades, no help in the draft, free agency once again a joke.

Maybe not a treadmill....not enough progress to give us real hope.
