Take this for what it’s worth I know there’s a lot of people that don’t like quick but...
It was in his article he just came out with about how Dame feels about the moves so far.
Then said potential targets for back up PG are kris Dunn and Austin rivers

Just looked at their roster, it’s putrid. I can’t believe Batum is only 31.

Would love Dunn.
Rivers - not so much.

I thought he was simply throwing out names:

The Blazers still have three roster spots open and can fill them with the biannual exception ($3.6 million) and two minimum contracts ($1.6 million) if they choose to carry 15 players. Backup point guard might be the next area addressed, with perhaps Kris Dunn or Austin Rivers as targets, and some big-man depth to perhaps provide insurance as Collins returns from July foot surgery.

So about OKC, who would want to play for them knowing that they would just get replaced by a future draft pic, LOL

he's been really good in extracting value but don't think it's that hard to tear down a team for picks.

I agree, he has a great mind for multidimensional trade maneuvering, but I'm not sure he's one of the best talent evaluators. It's easy to point at Durant, Westbrook, Harden, but I think it could be argued they were just a fortunate circumstance -"right place at the right time". They were basically selected where they were mocked, and they earned those draft slots the hard way - not from multidimensional maneuvering. To not come away with at least one ring with those guys is pretty damning.

So the plan is Melo with the BAE and a PG like bowman with the minimum?

There is just one play that I remember from Derick Jones Jr..........

The Green signing tells me PM is probably still available and that maybe we jumped the gun a bit.

Every year there is a player that falls through the cracks, and after all the money is used up, ends up signing for much less than anticipated. Could this be Millsap this year?

Where some of the money is going:
Gallinari - avg $20,500,000/yr
Harris - avg'd $18,750,000/yr
Bertans - avg $16,000,000/yr
Morris - avg $16,000,000/yr
Grant - avg'd $16,000,000/yr
Beasley - avg $15,000,000/yr
Clarkson - avg $13,000,000/yr
CWo0d - avg'd $13,667,000/yr
RHood - avg'd $10,500,000/yr
Leonard - avg'd $9,756,000/yr
DJones - avg'd $9,500,000/yr
Plumlee - avg'd $8,333,000/yr
Harrell - avg'd $9,490,000/yr
JGreen - avg $$7,500,000/yr

Would have much rather had Wood for not that much more money (via S&T). Right now, RoCo is your starting PF and @wizenheimer showed thoroughly how much better he is at SF than PF or C.

Perhaps Millsap falls for a BAE. That would probably be for a team where he thinks he can get a ring though.

that's the only dame quote in the article. rest is Quick patting himself on the back for suggesting Jones earlier in the fall
Lol! As the world turns it's the same old JQ making everything PTB about himself

STOMP

It's hard to imagine the Blazers go into the season with just an oft-injured, foul-prone Collins (who prefers playing C) and an undersized RoCo who has been shown to be much better at SF. Perhaps someone at 1 Center Court thinks that Gabriel is going to make a big jump in production this year.

Hey don't forget BIGGIE!!!!!!

FUCK NO to Austin Rivers! Actually neither of those guys are exactly maestros at running a team, but Dunn is at least an elite defender. Rivers is elite at dribbling in the same place for most of the shot clock.

Harkless stunk it up in NYC with a more prominent role (albeit pretty brief). Maybe the Heat can make his declining game look better, but I don't see him cashing for a lot in 2021.
