I haven’t followed who’s signed but Rondo would be an amazing signing to go with our 2nd unit. Considered one of the smartest players in the game, also relieve Lillard from having to bring ball up against traps.
He is in Atlanta I believe.

signed with ATL

Torrey Craig is a UFA now. Another Harkless type that would have been cheaper than DJJ.

I've always kind of admired him after Blake and paul went down in that clippers series, and he got bloodied up the last game and was still fighting.

Tough guy and can be streaky. Plays decent D and has good size for PG

More I think about Batum more I want him. We need a guy to run the second unit. He knows the system which is valuable since the season starts soon. He can guard point guards, I remember Stotts would put him on them all the time.

Batum
Trent
Hood
Jones
Collins

That’s such a balanced second unit imo. Got a playmaker. A slasher. Spacers. Defense.

People asking for a backup PG need to realize that Ant has been working on his PG skills this offseason. I think NO is planning on having Ant play the PG bench role with Trent playing SG.

Man, the Lakers have a ton of work to do filling out their roster. Davis will re-sign, but that only gives them 9 players.

every move this offseason has been about winning now. They don’t have time to wait around on a maybe, which is what Simons is. If he earns the backup spot, great, but he cannot be plan A.

Also losing Hezonja was whatever, but it does mean one less ball handler. At this moment, Portland has three options to run the offense; Dame, CJ, and Simons. That’s just unacceptable tbh.

But a Bowman or some other minimum player is suddenly going to make it acceptable?

As a 43 year fan of the Blazers and the Mariners, the Melo re-signing reminds me a lot of the Mariners re-signing Griffey the year after they brought him back. Griffey finished the season back by being carried off the field then instead of retiring he came back and ended up leaving in the middle of the night in the middle of the season. I'm not saying Melo should retire, but sometimes a nice heartfelt season should just end at that and move on. I hope it ends differently.
