I don’t understand this line of thinking. The games matter throughout the year. Why would we want to dig out of a hole late in the year?

its ridiculous. Every loss early has to be made up later. Game 1 counts every bit as much as game 81.
Id venture to say, how teams start out of the gate paves their path for the season, so the games are likely more important in the beginning than at the end, if they want to steer a certain course.

This one was important for sure. Winnable game on the home court against a divisional opponent before a long road trip. This win was taking care of business.
