Ice cold shooting tonight and goddamned wave of turnovers. Gave up a ton of offensive rebounds...just nothing clicking tonight.

No fight in the dog tonight

sure looked to me like the Blazers came out flat tonight and it finally caught up to them

they didn't value possessions, again; the 43M/year duo of Ant and Nurk didn't produce nearly enough; and Dame gets hurt

at first I was thinking Dame had a groin injury which can be bad and take forever to heal. A calf strain is better but a significant strain can take 2-4 weeks to heal

Blazers Uprise Postgame Show!
Heat 119, Blazers 98
Portland is no longer undefeated as they get run out of their own gym by Miami. Dame leaves the game in the 3rd quarter with a calf strain. Come talk about the first loss of the season with us.

Calf strains are no joke. They need to rest Dame until it’s 100%.

The link between calf strains and achilles injuries does concern me, though I'm not sure they are actually linked.

I don’t know if they are linked or not, but I had a calf strain that I didn’t let heal properly that led to major injury that I don’t want to voice.

:dunno: Everything seems to have caught up with the Blazers all at once. They need to take the next couple games, because that 6 game road trip will be brutal.

All of it in 5 games!!!! ALL OF IT! WOW OH WOW

Snap back to reality loss… we will see how they respond to a loss like this. Hopefully lillard is okay.

For what it is worth...(From my POV)
If they gotta lose, losing to Miami is ok.
As pleasant and fun of a group to work with as there is in the league.
Very cool dudes. (as is most teams)

We were averaging 30 FTA's/game, and even without Dame for half the game we still got to 26. Miami only took 19. So even in a loss where everything became a mess, we still didn't foul a lot and we still drew a lot of fouls. I really do think that's going to be part of this team's identity.

That was Jerami Grant's worst game by far. It takes me back to the Aldridge era--if he's not at least average, we'll need something really special from someone else to win.

Overall, it felt like Miami was desperate to get back into that pressing, hard-charging mindset they kind of lost. Portland felt like they were starting to believe the hype about the 4-0 start and were unprepared for the intensity. Dame wasn't there to right the ship, and we just didn't have that dominant vet who could quiet the troops and instill some order. If Jerami Grant could do that, we never would've been able to acquire him.

Sharpe feels like he could be that guy in 4 years, though. When he's, uh, 23. lol.

Is everyone just assuming we'll start Sharpe in Dame's absence? Because I am.

You know you're 19 y/o rook is going to be special when you say that not because we need to invest in our future, but because it's really the safest option. Somebody needs to generate points and show some maturity without Dame, and he's the most likely candidate.

Nurk must be paying off the statisticians around the league. Every time i look at the box score it shows about 1 5th of his goofs.

And the fairy tale ends.

still like the effort. Shots just werent falling, passes weren't as sharp as they should be Nd Miami needed that win. Hopefully Dame isn't out long. I think we can take Houston without him but need him back after that against the Grizz.

Question. If Miami is trash( you know, the team with the best record in the East last year), what does that make us?

No--I assume that if Dame needs to miss any time, Ant/Hart will slide down, and Nas will come in and start at 3.

19 TO's! we were so sloppy taking care of the ball and the sloppiness was widespread
