Watford played 30 minutes and was key to the victory in Washington.

So what does Billups do? Completely discount Watfords importance because it's not part of the master Billups plan and plays
Watford 22 minutes and goes with his boy Eubanks for 26 minutes.

Watford shot 4-5 and was 2-2 on 3-pointers.

Watford got cooked on defense the majority of his minutes. Both had a +/- of -3 for the game.

I'd guess there was no part of Billups master plan to play two undersized, undrafted, minimum contract guys at center 48 minutes. On a well built roster these guys are getting DNPs with occasional nights they play 8-10 minutes.

Nah... he did call a timeout after the Bulls went on an 8-0 and the run just continued. This theory that timeouts stop runs just isn't backed up by data.

In the third? Not that I saw. He needed to call another. You can't allow the opponent to keep momentum for that long.

And people don’t realize that Lillard is going to age a lot quicker trying to piggy back this rag tag crew

2nd night of a back to back. The 3rd q was not handled well at all.

Just remember, there were people saying 0-3 trip so 2-1 should be just fine right?

Because it is.

We know, we know, everything is fucking peachy keen.

Maybe we win 2 home games against the Bucks and Warriors lol

It would be fine if the Blazers had a 68% winning record at home like the Mavericks.
But they don't. It's only 56 percent.
That difference has to be made up somehow.

Maybe now people will realize how valuable Nurk is? Our drtg has cratered with him sidelined.

And it was pretty shit in the first place
No question he needs to at least be replaced. Not having a center other than Drew isn’t going to work.
Not sure I want Nurk back though. He simply isn’t that valuable as you say.

Second half they took 21 ft’s to the blazers 6. Not only did the discrepancy even put in the second half they ended the game with 4 more free throws.

Francis is breaking it down on the post game show. Basically, we didn’t hit our jumper when we needed to. When we can’t do that it’s going to be a bad outcome
There are two sides to that coin though. The reason why we need to hit all of our shots in order to win is because we can't stop anybody and when we get stops we don't get enough rebounds after. I don't think we need better shooters, we need better defenders.

We do. We need more length. It’s been a problem for 10+ years. Also a true PG off our bench to facilitate the offense.

Look at Olshay’s history. In love with undersized guards

You don’t get to the line much when you rely so much on the jumper

Just pulled up to the plane. Heading home…. Before I read this gem of a game thread….. let me guess, somebody is blaming the refs for our loss tonight.

People were complaining about the officiating but I don't think anyone had the delusion that it was the refs fault we lost. Our team lost that game. By our team I mean the Blazers and not the Lakers (didn't want that to be confusing).

We don’t really like Scott Foster but at least it was called even for the most part?

so you're saying rebounding and defense?

isn't it funny how teams with better length are generally better at rebounding and defense?

no it wasn't called evenly

Blazers had a 16-2 first half edge in FT's. The officials looked at that at halftime and made adjustments, and one of the adjustments was to give the Bulls the benefit of the doubt on both ends of the floor. That's how the Bulls had a 23-6 edge in FT's in the 2nd half

now you can look at the FT totals for the two teams and say "look, it was pretty even". But the reality is that the officials changed how they called the game at halftime and it favored the bump & grind defense the Bulls were playing.

that's not to say that was the main reason, or only reason, the Bulls won. But it was just more headwind a team playing a B2B and 3rd in 4 nights was facing. Good officiating wouldn't have 'needed' a big adjustment at halftime. it would have remained consistent. This was not good officiating.

In the second half we would drive into a defender with contact, no call. Immediately on the other end of the court the exact same level of contact and a whistle.

I think they out rebounded us quite a bit in the second half also. I think it was about even at halftime but they ended with 8 more than us. Shot 60%, how did we only lose by 8?
