If this franchise doesn’t make any moves before this Thursday to give Dame a chance, then they should just shut him down for the rest of the season. Why would you want to play him 40+ minutes per game and run him into the ground to just miss the playoffs?

Doesnt help that our PF is allergic to rebounds. He plays the PF position like a 5'-0" guard

that weakness was well known when Portland traded for him. Hart has done an excellent job of making up for Grant's rebounding flaw, but trading for Grant SHOULD HAVE informed Cronin he needed more mass and length on the roster to compensate. So...Gary Payton?

Lillard probably wants to play. Hard to just tell a star like that we’re going to give you DNP’s in the middle of your prime just because. That would be most likely responded to with a fuck you trade me request.

I get that. Most of my post was hyperbole due to frustration. But why are we going to play Dame 40+ minutes per game and run him into the ground and risk injury just to miss the playoffs?

Starters were just going through the motions at that point. IMO Better to avoid injuries and rest up for GS.

If Hart wouldn't take them, they go to the other side, so actually, we would be outrebounded 63-20, so 43:)

are the starters even going to come back after the All-Star break? Is Cronin setting up a new 25 game tank squad to finish this season? Blazers have enough bad players on the bench to lose a large amount of games rather quickly.

They don't really have this problem. Starters can stay for tanking, because they are clever enough to start every game with 0:20, so later they can play good, but lose anyway.

Weren't they looking for two picks last year as well? They tanked and were hoping to get a bump in the draft? That didn't work out so well obviously.

And we have acquired no draft picks of consequence as we've gotten where we are.

This was all pretttttttyyyyyy obvious at the time, and there's no clear path to success on the court or through trades any time soon. I guess those of us not in denial just hold out hope in case something good finally happens.

Our winning percentage is actually pretty much the same against above .500 teams as it is against below .500. If the Blazers just won 70% of our games against below .500 teams, our record would be 33-21, which would put us 2nd in the West.
